Sorry, no video ... I saw this TNT commercial tonight on NBATV, and basically it was a playoff intensity type commercial showing you highlights/interviews of playoff teams. "Win or Go Home." Each clip was like a second long. So I had to watch this in slow-mo, because that's the kind of crap I do, and see which teams were highlighted. 11 of a possible 16 playoff teams were shown... here's the breakdown: Miami Heat - 7 times shown New York Knicks - 4 Oklahoma City Thunder - 4 Los Angeles Lakers - 3 Los Angeles Clippers - 3 Orlando Magic - 3 Boston Celtics - 3 Dallas Mavericks - 2 Chicago Bulls - 2 San Antonio Spurs - 2 Memphis Grizzlies - 1 What ... the ... #$%^??? How do the New York Knicks, a team that may not even make the playoffs, get edited in as one of the top features of the INTENSITY of the 2012 playoffs? Just the big market noise of the NBA sometimes annoys me.
I do know that there are accusations of the Knicks holding out Lin's injury announcement to boost playoff ticket sales.
I don't mind NY being over-marketed as much as Houston being snubbed as if Houston was a small city. Houston is the 4th largest city and one of the fastest growing, why can't we be treated like it. Rockets are horrible in attendance this year. Can you really blame fans for not going to the games that the league has no interest in advertising?
I became a fan of the nba's facebook page and it lasted about a week after the constant big market coverage. the thunder seem to be the exception to the rule.
I'm surprised Atlanta got left out, no love the Josh Smith's highlight reel and Joe Johnson in the clutch? The other four teams I can understand.
Well everyone's hopped on the NY story this year and they are a very interesting team and have racked up bandwagons quick. Whatever helps ratings and advertising i suppose.
Ehh, I think you're blowing this out of proportion. It's easier to identify the star players on the Knicks roster, than someone like Josh Smith or Goran Dragic. That's all. Just marketing.
Well it's kinda messed up they have more time than the Bulls...you know the #1 team in their conference.
OMG I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE!!! but everytime I see one of those hype or nba commercials that show alot of teams, like bvass or whatever that bank is or BIG or amazing happens, I am always like COME ON SHOW THE ROCKETS SHOW THE ROCKETS JUST SHOW 1 DAMN ROCKET COME ON!!!!!!!
It's not necessarily which team they show the most. They show the 'stars'. Even though Houston and NY might all be 8th seeders, NY has Melo, Amare and Jeremy Lin. Houston has Dragic, Scola and Lowry.
From 1999-2009 the rockets were bottom five in the entire league in attendance. If your own fans don't care why would you expect them to show them on tv? Its not like the thunder don't get hyped and they play in one of the smallest NBA market.
the 2011-2012 knicks are one of the greatest teams of all time! * I hate the nba hype machine. then they wonder why their players have huge egos and act like divas. * I would love to see a playoff commercial with brothers and crawford. And by brothers i mean the referee brothers not brothers.
