Given his salary, would take Chuck back if it didn't require anything other than an expiring contract or cap space?

I'd trade Scola for him in a heartbeat.

I love Chuck, but unless he's playing backup or at PF- no.

He would probably be a backup PF with some spot duty at center in certain matchups.

Loved the guy, but I don't love his contract. Scola is the better player.

In our current state, no. Not at that price.

If we somehow make a big move and become a contender this summer, I'd consider it depending on what our PF position looks like.

I think I'm in the same boat. I wouldn't want his contract to get in the way of landing someone big but if we were over the cap anyway, I would take him in a heartbeat.

As I'm sure others have pointed out by now, he's not playing as well this year as I thought he would given his steady improvement when he was with us... He was looking really good by the end of last season. Maybe Morey knew that he wouldn't be as effective all around without Adelman and/or without starter minutes? Seems strange, though.

Regardless, it was sad to see him leave Houston, and it is just as sad to see his game seemingly level off like this. Chuck was one of those guys I grew to really love during his time with Houston, and will support him on any team.

But to answer your question... sad as it is to say so, I think I'd have to say no. I don't think Chuck is worth it for us with our current team.

It all depends on who your sending over in a trade I guess. The Rockets could really use his one on one defense in the three game stretch against Dallas on Dirk. He's hella-useful on certain nights.

Any team would love to have Chuck, but on this team now I dont see him as anything more than a specialist. With the state of the franchise now, its not wise to take on a contract like that if he's going to be in a situational role like that. I wouldnt rule him coming back at some point though before his career is up.

Nope ... that ship has sailed. Hope Chuck recovers fully from his injury and have a great year next season.

I'd take him over Patrick Patterson.

Then he would be a star! Imagine him with McGee's body (actually that's what I think Anthony Davis is). He'd be crazy good.

If we were at the cap then yes, absolutely. But right now we need flexibility.
