With out making a spoiler of this, if you read the books or once they get into the SoS season you'll find that the god of light does bigger miracles then saving someone from poison.

Please don't let this thread turn into The Walking Dead piss n' moan thread with nitpicks.

It was clearly out of order from the source, but still pretty faithful other than the Cersei & Petyr scene, but I was fine with it.

The best part for me was how much better the Direwolves look. Grey Wind was HUGE!

I wasn't so much nitpicking as just noticing differences. Still think the Shae thing is odd though.

I too am glad that they went with the CGI direwolves instead of the dogs from season 1.

Yes, the direwolves look great. They sure fixed that complaint. But while the dragons still look good, they have Daenerys staring at the wrong area of her shoulder. Looks like she's staring past the dragon while she was trying to feed it. Stood out to me.

Didn't notice the dragon thing. Did think it was odd the way they portrayed the parting of Daenreys and her Blood Riders, specifically the one guy she talked to before he lit out. Made it almost seem as if there was some romantic interest there, which I don't remember at all from the books. I guess they were just trying to show that she is a leader that really cares about her people.

I got the feeling it was more romantic but I haven't read the books.

My wife totally got that vibe too but it wasn't in the books.

Killing off all of Robert's b*stard kids....assumed Cersei had ordered it.

Cersei probably ordered it . Her thinking would be 'If Robert has no kids (legitimate or illegitimate) it makes Joffrey's claim to the throne stronger'.

She's having them all killed so that nobody can make the same connection that Ned did, that all of his bastards have black hair but his 3 "legitimate" kids are blonde. With Stannis sending out letters all across Westeros telling everybody that the Baratheon children are really products of Lanister incest, she can't afford to let any of Robert's real children live.

IIRC, in the first season that showed Ned visiting a brothel when he was trying to figure out the reason behind Jon Arryn's death (right before he was attacked by Jamie?). I think they made it clear that one of the whores had given birth to one of Robert's bastards. And of course, they end the episode with Gendry who was the most notable of the bastards from Season 1, the one where Ned realized the secret Jon had discovered.

That connection has been made. Stannis just sent a letter to everyone in the kingdom. I doubt she is worried about anyone figuring out what everyone already knows.

Stannis sent letters, but how many people believe it? Like Jaime said, it's an accusation made by a man who's claiming the throne for himself. And beyond the accusation, Stannis lacks proof. Ned had proof, he had Robert's bastards to point to. Very few people are aware that these kids are in fact Robert's bastards. Gendry has no clue Robert was his father. So if they're killed off, then nobody can use them to back Stannis' claim.

    There are multiple reasons.

1st Cersie is very insecure about Joffrie or by proxy the Lanister claim to the throne. She does not want bastards who are Roberts only true borne running around mucking things up.

2nd All of Roberts true borne have dark hair and dark skin. Not Joffrie, Tommen or Myrcela. There is still many that will not want to believe Stanis's letter and she does not want to give them ammo to believe.

3rd she hated Roberts whores and found them an insult to her as a woman. The bastards were the result of those insults and she wants them gone.

Cersie is possibly the single most complicated Charecter in the series.

Keep an eye on Janos Slynt the guy who killed the baby as this plays an important role later on. In case anyone forgot he is the same man who was and still is in charge of the Gold Cloaks when they betrayed Eddard Stark as he was trying to seize control of the kingdom from Cercie.

the series does not always do a good job of briefing you on the important supporting Charecters such as Slynt and Yoren.

She's one of the most simplistic, one-dimensional characters. b****y, bitter, grasping.

Tyrion is the most complicated character in the series by a mile.

But, Joffery was born from an incestual relationship between his mother and her brother...correct? And, Joffery doesn't know this and thinks he is the legitimate heir...correct? Last, what is the reasoning for Joffery's prickly behavior?
