Lets face it.. Granger beat us. He was 6-8 from 3 pt land. No one else on that team made a 3. Why is our $7mil Dalembert playing less than Camby? Is he that ineffective?
We might have been better off going smaller with Bud and Lee on the wings with Dragic tonight and running Patterson with Camby for the best interior defense. Granger torched us plain and simple. We couldn't stick with him. They went to the line 18 more times than we did. Perhaps some Dragic Bud Lee Camby Parsons may have quickened the game up and allowed us to get a bunch of runouts.
My thoughts exactly. He got the ball with 4 seconds left, no one to pass it to, and no timeouts. What did he expect?
One of those rebounds attempts was tipped out of his hands by Dragic who was trying force a fastbreak but he ended up tipping it straight into the hands of a Pacer. That no call on Dragic early on swung the momemtum.
Whatever. Parsons took an extremely ill-advised shot at the end of the game regardless if what anyone says.
I think the worst part was that Parsons had Lee WIDE OPEN at the top of the key on the first inbounds play, but he held the ball and got surrounded around the FT line, and called a TO. The second play was an abortion.
Just saw the recap and I agree with everyone that last shot is inexcusable, we had 4 seconds to tie it with two! Parsons has hit one clutch shot vs. Mavs and all of a sudden he's MJ, thinking he can make fadeaway threes with a hand in his face?? Terrible waste of effort, which Camby seemed to provide again. OT loss again, this is not good.
LOL what an awful decision/shot by Parsons! But you know what? I love that he wanted to take the shot and likes taking the big shots. Man Granger lit his ass up, repeatedly! thats 2 bad games defensively for Parsons this game and the Denver game when Affalo was busting in his face. Haven't read the Game thread but I'm pretty sure everyone blames scola who had the same amount of rebounds as Patterson but better offensive game.. It was really a toss up so I'm not mad Mchale went with scola. In hindsight, since Pat and Scola couldn't score (or rebound), Mchale should have rolled out Dally and go with the 0 calorie twin towers.. Disappointing the miscommunication too; there should be an assistant coach that keeps track of that stuff.
The reason people reacted to what you said isn't about the shot. (no one to pass to, no not enough time. Beside the point.) It is because you made a claim that Parsons doesn't pass the ball. It is just insane to call some who is clearly one of the team's best passers a ball hog. You obviously haven't checked his numbers, and I wouldn't be surprised if you really don't watch the games. Absolutely insane.
I watch all the games. There's nothing absolutely insane about what I said. I think Parsons is overrated by this board. He's a sixth man off the bench at best. Him and Bud make up the weak-minded white boy crew. You mad, bro?
What reason would I have to be mad? You seemed pretty upset with the rest of Clutchfans, as everyone else has ridiculed you. I'm unclear as to what that has to do with me. If Parsons only shoots when he gets the ball, how come he takes only around 8 shots per game? If he were a chucker, why would his field goal percentage be so high? That already tells me all I need to know about what you said. Honestly, your opinion doesn't really mean anything. Perhaps you were expecting to much? Keep in mind Parsons is a rookie who was drafted in the 2nd round. Having said that, he is currently 4th in rookie rankings. Apparently the media, which doesn't seem to care much about Houston at the moment, thinks very highly of Parsons. Why wouldn't they? This month he has one of the highest shooting percentages in the league for a wing. He is rebounding at a very good clip for a 3. He has proven to be one of the top 3 passers on the team. Let's not forget his strength. He is close to 90th percentile in the league in one on one defense as a rookie. In lue of these facts, perhaps sports writers and analysts are just as delusional about Parsons as Clutchans. And who needs stats anyway? I find it funny that you compare Budinger to Parsons as the only similarity between them is that they are white. If you had seen Parsons in person on the court, I guarantee you would not call him weak minded. He is already very strong defensively and consistently talks a lot of trash to opponents. Bottom line is, no one cares what you think. I for one, would prefer looking at statistics. If I listened to anyone, it would be most likely to sports analysts or people with basketball knowledge.
Dalembert has the flu (as I read here ) and CAMBY is still a rebounding defensive beast with one hand.
Why dont we sub one 7 footer for another? We have two defensive beasts ion Camby and Dalembert. Why arent these guys ont he court 95% of time? Its just stupid playing Scola and Patterson out of position? WHY? WHY? It bites us in the @ss every time. The points they gain never ever makes up for the points they give up in return. Thats why we lose - because you cant win if you give up more points then what you score. We have two PFs and 2 Cs. Why not let them play their natural positions?
Can some1 post the video of the travel and other late calls because it seems the refs were @ it again..this is just sickening and I hope one day we just sign a really heavy dude (rugby / NFL type) for situations like that to come off the bench and knock / take the ref out. He will be suspended but is not in the rotation anyway so it won't matter.
