We don't have to trade Lowry draft night though, and we don't have to only trade him for a draft pick. He could be swapped for another player or players. Personally, I think trading Lowry for something (I don't know what specifically, there are many possibilities, but something good) and re-signing Dragic is Morey's most likely course of action. However, it's totally up in the air what Morey could do it. It might be something like this: 30% Trade Lowry in a package for an all star or borderline all star player, re-sign Dragic 25% Trade Lowry in a package for a high draft pick, re-sign Dragic 20% Re-sign Dragic as 6th man or starting SG, making other trades to free more minutes for him 15% Trade Lowry in a package for one of the above, let Dragic walk, and sign a FA point guard like Williams or Nash 10% Keep Lowry, let Dragic walk for nothing (I think this is least likely because Morey won't want to let a 25 year old guy playing like an all-star just walk away and get nothing back)
I am not leading anyone anywhere, I am just saying that is what the team should do. Will it happen, how the hell do I know? I just hope it does.... The best would be we keep them both, but I don't think that will be possible. The debate was personal - obviously. DD
Good post there dobro, if u would like keep him here for 6man and lesser money u just to have sign his brother zoran for rookie min and he stays 100%
Why do people want Lowry to be gone or Dragic to be gone? They are good together. It wouldn't matter to either one who starts if they want to WIN. And Martin should be traded so Lee can start. Lee wants to WIN more than Martin does apparently.
Im sure you would love to make an impression on someone who is on the fence with their opinions on Les and Morey. My point is that your debates are in a theoretical vacuum that you know isn't likely, and thats why you sway so far to that extreme of your argument. Your obviously not a novice at debating. At least on Clutchfans that is. I enjoy some of your outlandish arguments. I just wish they would have some attachment to reality once in awhile.
I wouldn't even go as far to say that it will be "less money" but less money than a bad team will offer him. You look at the good teams who will be in the market for a starting PG- -Miami- -Lakers- -Mavs- -Utah- -Phoenix- -Portland- -The Lakers, and Heat could only use their lower mid level exception on Dragic. -The Mavs have their heart set on Deron Williams this summer, if they strike out would they make an offer to Dragic? I dunno. Maybe, but likely they will keep it reasonable since they will want to keep their capspace setup to take on Dwight Howard potentially whether it be in trade in Feb. or signing in the summer of 2013. I dont think the Mavs are a real possibility at a price that will blow your mind. -Utah is a potential here. They will have money to spend for sure, but do they view Dragic as a major upgrade to Devin Harris? I dunno, but I would keep an eye on Utah here. -Phoenix & Portland are also dark horses here, but with the ownership they have in place do they seem like teams that will offer much more than Houston has to offer????... I dont think so. Then there are the bad teams with money and a starting PG spot potentially open- Raptors, Kings, Bobcats, Nets?, Hornets. If he takes an offer from those guys then its clearly about the $. If Gogi likes it in Houston and doesn't mind coming off the bench in a 6th man type of role, then I think there is a deal that can be had that works for everyone. I do think that Goran does want to be a starter, but he's probably smart enough to know that playing 6th man with Houston at the start of next season might be a better possibility than going to play on the Bobcats for a few more bucks.
