Yet the same people label Rudy Gay a chucker who averages less shots and plays on the wings where those numbers are considered efficient.

Kevin Love is the second best player on the Timberwolves.

but love takes 5.1 3's a game and is shooting 39% from 3.

    love's ts% is 57%

    rudy gay's is 51%

not a fan of jump shooting pf's but you have to take that in consideration.

What we are doing is putting his numbers in perspective. The guy is doing stuff that hasn't been seen in the league since the 40s and 50s.

You can explain it how you want to explain it. It's just a fact.

His true shooting percentage is 8th best among PFs, and 2nd among starting PFs.

1st in PER. The fact that the Wolves are decent is a testament to how good Love is.

without Rick Adelman... the wolves are on the same pace as last year

Adelman needs a COTY this year

Is this the same Rick Adelman that couldn't get the Rockets into the playoffs, but the guy that Minnesota let go, is?

On offense Love is an absolute beast. But on defense? Tim Duncan anchors perennial top-5 defense. Dwight Howard anchors perennial top-5 defenses. David Robinson anchors perennial top-5 to 10 defenses. Kevin Love anchors perennial below average defenses.

Forget the guys listed in in the first post, I'll take prime Yao and his 20/9 over Kevin Love any day.

If you were trying to prove that Love was a stat stuffer, you did a great job. Congrats.

I'm not trying to prove anything. I'm just presenting the information.

Love is nowhere near prime time Duncan. HE cant defend for his life. He is just a better rebounder and a good shooter. But tim could dominate both sides of the floor and he comanded double team on the post all the time.

especially his defense in crunch time this season. Love is a much-improved defensive player. The idea that he is a liability is also old news, a dated and cliché take that was relevant a year ago but not now. Love has quick feet, and he has become smart about the way he moves around the floor. He can’t jump, but he can slide just fine, and he’s quite good at sliding a bit off his man to contain guards on pick-and-roll plays or darting along the baseline to contest a jump shot. He knows his limitations, and he understands how to play the odds — which shots are worth contesting aggressively, and which aren’t threatening enough to justify yielding his own man too much freedom.

Opposing big men have shot just 37 percent against him in the post, one of the stingiest marks in the league, per Synergy.
