When Basso writes that "Rush Rules," it's enough for me to cement the probability of his dislike of minorities, women, the poor, and decent people.
What cracks me up is that Elliott Spitzer is his replacement...and Dick Morris continues to get work as a commentator on Fox News. See...party affiliation and ideology mean nothing in current national politics. Left or Right, Democrat or Republican, it don't matter...seems like everyone needs a w****-chasing toothpick-hung commentator to tell them what to think!!
This thread does a nice job of displaying the mindset of the different factions here. No liberals seem overly concerned that Olbermann was fired. They understand he has a history of being hard to work with, and have no difficulty believing he deserved to be terminated. Conservatives in this thread feel they've got a real winner because somebody from the "other side" got taken down, and surely all of those liberals will be hurting from that one. But it isn't like that. Liberals aren't as much about having a side and taking down the other side. That seems to be more of a conservative mindset. This thread displays it nicely. I'm just curious why that is.
Direct tv 358. I was more concerned when Olbermann was fired from MSNBC. Not all cable/satellite providers have Current TV. In recent months my wife and I have been watching the Young Turks with Cenk Ugyur who we find more entertaining and really better on the facts when he drills down on them on Current instead of Olbermann. I only watch one of these shows a night and select heavily from one or two others as they tend to repeat the same topics on a given night. I am very thankful for Current TV, owned/founded by Joel Hyatt and Al Gore, which will keep corporate propagandist NBC honest with the liberal line up on MSNBC. They first leaned on Phil Donahue to have more pro-war guests and then second fired him when he had too many guests telling the truth in the lead up to the Iraq war, which they supported. Otherwise MSNBC will increasingly pressure Maddow and others to support the corporate agenda figuring that liberal eye balls they sell to advertisers have no where else to go.
Olby has a new gig. Spoiler looks more like Chris Matthews Spoiler <iframe width="853" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/wC8ovJYAU3U" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Politics aside. Olbermann is a f-cking prima donna ******* behind the scenes. We're talking worse than Rosie O'Donnell. Like his M&Ms better be the right color asshatery.
there are quite a few Olbermann threads, but this one seemed most appropriate Keith Olbermann needs ‘serious help’ as ex-colleagues warn threat-issuing broadcaster is ‘losing it’ https://nypost.com/2025/09/25/media/keith-olbermann-is-unhinged-isolated-former-colleagues/ excerpt: Broadcaster Keith Olbermann has become ever more embittered and isolated as his work and influence have dried up, with former colleagues worried he needs “serious help,” The Post has learned. Olbermann, 66, railed against members of the Trump administration on social media this week as well as threatening conservative CNN commentator Scott Jennings with “you’re next motherf—er,” in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Former MSNBC and ESPN personality Olbermann, who now hosts an independent podcast, apologized to Jennings after he reposted his tweet and tagged the FBI Monday. “We thought for many years that he was losing it, and I say this honestly and out of concern for another human being,” said Sage Steele, a former ESPN anchor who previously worked with Olbermann at the network. She now hosts the Sage Steele Show on YouTube. “I think anyone who posts such hate as he often does and the language he uses, there’s something that’s not right,” she told The Post Tuesday. more at the link
hard to compete in a world where any nutjob ex-journo can have a podcast and a substack. maybe he should learn to code.
When was the last time Jennings apologized? How would the right take it if one of their hate mongers gets reported to the FBI? Does the right ever show any concern for their hate mongers? versus cheer them on? So many double standards.
in a debate on tv, jennings defended Musk's Hitler salute as harmless when his debate opponent said, if it is harmless, why don't you do it on TV. of course Scott Jennings chickened out
he started out as a local sports broadcaster in LA, he was later fired. then, he landed w the new national sports channel, ESPN. had success there, but ended up leaving on less-than-amicable terms. then he veered off to political news at msnbc; after some early success there, he was fired later. he could not get along w the rising star Rachel Maddow since there, he has had many jobs, none lasted for more than a year
