If you were Dragic, would you re-sign to be a backup if it meant slightly more money? A starting job would do wonders for his career (it already has been).
Yes. Its for stability and money. Yes and yes. It would likely and very comforting to make so much money and return to the team i had so much success with under their system.
More money you say? To be a backup? Heck yeah. Right back to the Rockets with a chance to start if Lowry goes down or gets traded. You bet I would take more money to stay if I was Dragic.
Of course he would. He can speculate if Morey is to trade him or Lowry or both. Nothing is stagnant with this Front Office. I am kidding. Depends on his feelings to be a Rocket.....
I like Dragic and I'd like for the Rockets to re-sign him if possible, but I'm pretty wary about his recent performance being a contract year bump. Considering that Utah (among other teams) desperately needs a good point guard and looks to have a decent amount of cap room next season, we'd almost certainly have to overpay if we want to keep him.
Who said it was exactly the same? Look you can hide behind gray areas all you want but not that flaming jack wagon he makes crap up and points fingers all the time, so this is a nice dose of his/her/trolls on medicine. DD
That's essentially what you're saying, when you make this argument: Pure hypocrisy implies totally analogous situations.
Ok, so you are a literal nut. Got it. It was meant as a modifier, not to be taken literally professor. DD
He isn't in it either he is just butting in, this has nothing to do with Durv, it has to do with Flaming moron pointing fingers, making **** up and being a hypocrite. Read his post, he will say, I remember when you said.......when it is all made up crap, the guy is just a dick. DD
I could say the same thing about my use of the word "exactly". With or without your modifier, its not hypocrisy when there are relevant differences between the two situations.
The PG dilemma between Brooks and Lowry was entirely different than the dilemma between Lowry and Dragic. Brooks was a pure scorer and good shooter from distance who got a few assists off the defense overplaying him. But he was a poor defender. And he didn't get to the FT line. Lowry, at that time, was a total contrast. He wasn't a scorer, not good from distance, but he got to the FT line a ton and he created a lot of easy buckets for his mates with his helter skelter hustle and he was miles better than Brooks defensively. They were two contrasting players, who when combined actually were very, very effective. I, for one, got on the Lowry bandwagon early. I was hoping before we traded for him that we would somehow get him. And then when we moved Rafer for him, I was ecstatic. Somewhere around the beginning of the 09-10 season, I personally came to the conclusion that Lowry was the better point guard and Brooks would serve us better coming off the bench in a designated gunner role. I still feel that way today. And it will be interesting to see if Brooks brings anything new to the table when he gets back in the league. The dilemma between Lowry and Dragic is way different. Because you got 2 guys that D it up, they both are pretty good shooters (Lowry has drastically improved) and they both play within the offense, see the floor well, and look to set up their mates and run the offense for others. And they both are aggressive to the bucket and take on contact instead of shying away from it. And they both can get very hot or get very cold shooting the ball. Of course that's the way it goes for most guys. There is a lot more similiarities to Dragic and Lowry while Lowry and Brooks had no similiarities besides the fact that they played the same position. This idea of going back to the Lowry/Brooks debate is really pointless. And getting into the back and forth about guys not being willing to come off Lowry is stupid. Fact is Lowry has been hurt and Dragic has come in and proven that he can play. Which one of them is best when they are both healthy is debatable. But anybody that believes Dragic is (which I do at present) should be able to understand why others still prefer Lowry. It's not like Lowry was playing like trash before he got sick. He's still a very, very good point guard. We have two guys that are very, very good ballers with similar strengths. I like it a lot. Can't wait for Lowry to get back out there and see what our perimeter looks like with some combination of him, Dragic, Lee, and Parsons on the floor at all times.
I just wish Lee was slightly taller because a backcourt rotation of Dragic, Lowry, and a taller 2 guard would be perfect. Then again, if Morris can show he can half way defend the 3, Parson could slip over to the 2 guard position to handle the taller SG like Kobe.
Very well said, jopatmc. While I wasn't jonesin' for Kyle before the Rafer deal, I was doing cartwheels after it happened, and also eventually figured out that he was better suited as our starter, and AB as instant offense off the bench as his backup. We had many arguments about it here at the time with our friend DD, and others. Most of the back and forth was pretty entertaining, although exhausting after a while. DD doesn't know the meaning of "I give up!" ;-D-
