Do you guys think OKC should use this lineup in the playoffs? D-Fish Westbrook Durant Ibaka Perkins ???? d-fish has alot of experience, and westbrook can finally play his real position.
why not? wb isn't much of a pg, and he won't get blamed for jacking up a lot of shots if he plays sg..
No... the people who criticize WB for his shot attempts don't know basketball. People don't understand how versatile players are nowadays, and you can't restrict a position to those types of players. WB is a combo guard and overall is a playmaker. He looks to score more b/c outside of KD in the starting lineup, no one else can create their own shot. He has to score AND make plays if the Thunder are to be successful. IF you want to move WB to the SG position exclusively, which the Thunder do, they will insert Harden and allow WB to play off the ball more. Fisher shouldn't play more than 10 minutes a game in the playoffs. The dude sucks.
wb isn't much of a pg? he dominates his opponent almost every night. he may shoot a lot, but he's still a hell of a lot better than have fisher as your starting pg.
Harden could play point, but seriously, people are really underestimating the amount of Fisher's suckiness.
no, LOL @ YOU. harden can play pg, but the only reason he isn't starting now is because they want him to play the manu ginobli/jason terry role/
lol that made me laugh, haha. okay, what if eric maynor wasn't injured. would you guys still not want WB playing sg?
isnt he shooting something like 47%? it isnt jacking shots if theyre good shots. i agree with Harden Westbrook Durant Ibaka Perkins over D-Fish at PG. Harden is a great passer.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Wouldn't be surprised if they use that lineup for small stretches but starting with a bulk of minutes is just dumb. Fisher+Westbrook defending PG/SG. Fisher has to be among the worst defensive PGs in the league and Westbrook defending the 2 is terrible due to his lack of size. That sounds like a nightmare. Opposing backcourts would torch them. And offensively, it really wouldn't affect anything. Doesn't hurt, doesn't help. Westbrook's role would remain the same for the most part. Doesn't matter which position he plays, he is the second scoring option and it is a role he is playing very very well.
I came in this thread knowing the OP would have Westbrook at SG. But I thought he would at least put Harden at PG.
no, no it doesn't. harden is obviously better than sefalosha, so why doesn't he start? its because they want him to have the jason terry/ manu roll on their team.
Fisher is terrible. What he brings to the table is a steadiness at the backup PG position. Reggie Jackson isn't ready yet and with Fisher in with the reserves, there is already a comfort level with the unit despite Fisher being awful. Now that Thabo has returned from his injury, Fisher is needed less. When Cook returns, the only thing keeping Fisher from a string of DNPs is respect from Scott Brooks. OKC's best unit always includes KD, WB and Harden. The other two guys depend on matchups and the flow of the game. I criticize Brooks a lot, but ever since Jeff Green was traded, I don't disagree all that much with his substitutions and lineups (the recent exception being playing Fisher too much. Those who saw the T-Wolves game know exactly what I mean). Sometimes I think Ibaka needs to play more in the 2nd half instead of Collison, but oh well. They miss Maynor a lot. This is one reason WB's scoring and minutes are up. It's a good thing for OKC he's up to the task of the increased load.
