Durant has the edge over Lebron in the MVP race right now. Lebron could even things out depending on his performance in their next meeting. If Durant wins the next meeting again then he's a lock for MVP in my opinion.
How would Kobe in the All-NBA 1st Team be a disgrace? Who would you rather have there? He is leading one of the best teams in the league right now.
They're in fourth place, but they're only winning at a clip that would put them at 50-32 in a full 82-game season. That would be their worst record since 2007.
Chris Paul/WB/Wade are easily over Kobe at the guard position. And again, Kobe is continuing his slide. 0-7 in the first half tonight. You seriously can't have seomone shooting 42% on first team.
^ and watch Kobe right now v. Hornets. They don't even double him, and left him several times to double Bynum, and he still hasn't scored a bucket. He's getting his stats on pure chucking. Kobe started out the first month and a half at an all-nba 1st team pace, but he's fallen way off.
wade is having a much better season. why should he not make it over kobe? it's not like wade is just barely edging kobe out or something.
It means Wade plays with LeBron. Makes it easier for him as LBJ would get more attention defensively. Kobe consistently goes up against the toughest perimeter defenders in the game and constantly draws double/triple teams. He dominates the ball more than anybody in the league.
This game is trash. It's more about the Lakers than Kobe, although he's the main donkey so far. This team needs something dramatic to happen, like an ejection or suspension. They aren't playing for each other and certainly aren't playing for Mike Brown.
Have you watched Laker games this year? For the past 2 months, he's been facing single coverage b/c of the emergence of Bynum. Hell, watch how the HOrnets defend him, and the types of shots he's getting. I don't even think you watched a Laker game at all recently.
That last airball by Kobe makes me wonder if he's missing on purpose. He's 0/12 now. Artest needs to commit a flagrant foul or something to get them going.
it also means wade doesn't get as many touches. and he still puts up better numbers. it's not like this is wade's best season or anything. he's done better as the main star on the team. is it still 2007? that's an admirable quality? for a guy with average efficiency and with maybe the best offensive center in the league on his team? (edit: bynum 4-5, kobe 0-13 in the 3rd, wow)
He's not. He's trying hard on defense trying to get steals, meaning he wants to get an easy bucket. That airball wasn't a shot I don't believe, or at least I don't think so. EDIT: Man this chucking is getting embarrassing. When he touches the ball, he ain't even looking to pass.
Not as many as I used to (lived in LA from 05-09, watched nearly every Laker game then, seen PLENTY of Kobe, very familiar with his game) BUT I do watch when I can. He clearly is off in this game (which I am watching). But to say that he has been getting single-coverage the entire game is ridiculous and proves that you are clearly not really watching the game.
No star gets single coverage the entire game. Kobe still gets doubled if he gets a mismatched (like a shorter player in the post) or when he is able to get into the lane and draw defenders. But for the most part, he faces single coverage. But Bynum gets the most double/triple teams for the Lakers now.
i would prefer if someone besides dwight would win DPOY. In my opinion someone who is a good one on one defender similar to tony allen or parsons should get the award. I'm sorry but I'm just sick of the NBA's bias towards superstars being the only one able to win these awards.

Kobe barely deserves 3rd team. If it wasn't for the fact that Rose has missed half of the season, I would have put him ahead. Winning the scoring title means nothing. If I got 500 shots a game, I could lead the NBA in scoring. Kobe doesn't care about winning anymore. All he wants to do is surpass Kareem on the scoring list. So he chucks up shot after shot after shot. Seriously, he's a under 30% 3 pointer who fires 5 of them a game. His TS% is .523, which is TERRIBLE for a superstar. Wade's is .571. Parker is .535. Westbrook, whom half of this board argues is a chucker? .553. To top it off, since February 1st, do you know how many games Kobe has had where his FG% is .500 or higher? 5.
Good. I hope he averages 29+ ppg, lakers get knocked out of the playoffs in the first round for the next 4-6 years and he passes kareem. I dont like anyone on that team aside from Artest and Sessions.
