Desperate times call for desperate measures. Right now our backup point guard is a 35 year old, five foot five inch dude that was playing at the YMCA last week. Boykins was horrible last night.
If he were eligible for the playoffs it would be worth serious consideration. But if he is only going tp play for the last 14 games, the potential chemistry issues aren't worth it. Boykins is a career backup and knows his role
the AI redemption experiment failed in Denver, Detroit, Philadelphia again, and Memphis. he refused to come off the bench. Marbury hasn't played for an NBA team in almost three years. he is considered a wack job in America and worshiped as a hero in China. the one where he is not playoff eligible http://www.nba.com/news/key-dates/index.html March 23 -- Waiver deadline for Playoff eligibility
Marbury's game has completely changed in China. It's amazing how much of a turnaround he's gone through. Not sure if it's just the NBA life vs. life playing in China, but this move was the best thing that could have happened to him as a person. He's became much more unselfish and a decent human being.
He was always a decent human being. It was his ego that couldn't handle life in the nba. I agree, moving to china was the best thing to ever happen for him. A completely differrent culture and no baggage or bizarre perceptions from the new chinese fanbase.
No way. I'm glad that this Leopard appears to have changed his spots. Still, we are developing a culture that should be protected at all costs. Forget about desperate moves which MIGHT mess with it. Guys are developing and we're forming an identity. Kevin and Daryl know what they're doing.......patience.
Usually Id say Hell No to an aging star who was banished to the other side of the world, but in this case for some reason.... It kind of oddly makes sense. Wierd that I would actually be ok with the Rockets bringing in Marbury for the rest of the season.
thanks for the clarification. I don't think Marbury has had an agent for years now. no GM or NBA executive wants to go near the guy. if he wants to prove his maturity and re-join the NBA, one step would be to swallow his pride and sign with legitimate representation.
Why not? He's a changed man, and Mchale would probably whip his ass to work hard and lead the second unit. He's just better than boykins for the Rockets...Imagine Westbrook posting up Boykins in the playoffs...ehhhhhhhhhhh
He won a title in China.... what do you think is his motivation to come here? Get out of the first round? Maybe eliminated in the second round? Might as well join the Friends Club at South Beach, Rose's Bulls, or the Thunder, taking over Old Fisher's place
