Look, I know that it is a small sample size so far, and I really don't want this to be a "dragic over lowry fa sho" type of thread. I just think that Dragic is a much more capable offensive player with a higher potential for being a serious force. not to mention, I love the way he handles/controls the ball. Lowry is a better on-ball defender, but so what. Dragic can do things offensively that Lowry couldn't dream of. So please, do your best to compare or highlight each individual's talent without declaring a starter. one other thing, Lowry would seem to have a very very high trade value, right?

    Dragic's pros over Lowry:

    - Better scorer
    - Runs offense better because of scoring and passing ability
    - Doesn't pick up the ball as much as Lowry (this is HUGE). Lowry has a tendency to pick up the ball and pass to a teammate hoping they'll make a play.

On defense i always thought Lowry was an excellent defender, but Dragic is just as good AND picks up his man as soon as they inbound the ball. I love when opponents are frustrated by Dragic's D.

    Lowry's pros over Dragic:
    - 3 pointer is a bit better
    - Is a bigger name at the moment and will net us a great player/high pick in a trade.

It's not a small sample. I live in PHX and seen him play a lot. He's been good for a long time, just under the radar. People were very upset here about the Suns giving him up for Brooks. Even if AB played like pre Ginobili injury, they still wanted Dragon over him. I can't blame them. I don't think he will go unnoticed this coming FA unfortunately.

Oh and guess which NBA player Dragic looked up to growing up. He had a few great years playing behind this guys and had the pleasure of being mentored by him. They both have soccer backgrounds and have a tendency to probe the defense and keep their dribble alive. This trait is only possessed by the elite pg's that even our very own Lowry can't do.

I hate to imagine this, but there is a chance that our division foe will take him, or DWill. I do not like Lowry because his defense is a liability, he is similar to AB. When he gets picked, the PGs are all in front of him making plays. Dragic, I think is a better shooter, I remember Bullard said something like that in the preseason and Lowry is more of a streak shooter which can be great, or if in a funk can be devastating. Dragic is a really quick player, I think he is more quicker than Lowry. I hope Lowry 2.0 is better because right now I take Dragic>Lin>Lowry :)

David Stern: My starters would have been Goran Dragic, Kevin Martin, Trevor Ariza, Luis Scola, and Emeka Okafor with Lamar Odom as my 6th man if not for my basketball reasons.

You really think Lowry is the better three point shooter? I don't know.. I guess they're both kind of streaky.

Dragic's ability to break down defenses opens up so many scoring opportunities for other guys.

And his mid range game is fantastic, that fadeaway at the elbow is a thing of beauty.

Yeah, that is a big thing with Dragic. A mid-range game is something Lowry just does not have. If he has the ball in his hands and the shot clock is winding down and he can't get into the paint with a clear shot at the basket, the possession is basically done for. Dragic can actually make these little mid-range fadeaways and create his own offense at the end of the shot clock.

Lowry's first 13 games this season earn him allstar mention(almost thriple double every night), and Lin's got national 'linsanity' going. Dragic's performance is on par, but not better than those two. Both Lowry and Lin are injured now, and Dragic has sprained his ankle...

The better he plays, the better for the playoff run and his immediate free agency status. But it'll be worse for us long term, since we'll have to let him walk away or pay him big even if he declines afterwards(which I wouldn't be surprised considering his performance in 4 years before this run - not consistent at all).

I want Dragic, Lee, Lowry, and Parsons getting about 32 minutes a night with Chase or Morris picking up the leftovers, depending on who is shooting well.

There should be very little doubt left that Goran is the engine of this team and will be the engine of this team throughout the remainder of this season.

That covers your perimeter for the balance of this season. If we're gonna push for the playoffs, we might as well see if we can get up to 4 and get home court advantage for the first round, then take our chances with OKC in the second round. And if Kyle gets healthy and Marcus Camby keeps doing what he is doing and doesn't suffer any more injuries, we can make a push for 4.

Camby is huge for this team. McHale finally did the right thing and started him and he's gonna play Patterson or Dally as the 3rd big. McHale can rotate his 3rd big minutes depending on which of Patterson or Dally is producing best. And he can rotate his 5th perimeter guy between Bud and Morris depending on who is hot.

We need Lowry healthy to make a push and see if we can get into the 2nd round.

I feel like Drag is a better defender. So many times do I see KLow's defender breeze right past him, which can potentially get Dally in foul trouble.

BTW its obvious that the OP just created this clutchfans account to start a new thread on Dragic

we on clutchfans tend to favor european players over american players.. And the only american players we do hype up and talk about are the white ones.

So many times i hear many here calling black NBA players dumb, or stupid( which to me has kind of a racial undertone to it). Black Players do the same thing that white NBA players do.. Often times better. But we tend to only notice these great things when a white player does them

I just hope Donuts is as good as everyone is saying... and not a repeat of Vsapn, David Anderson, Marty Luenen, and Brad Newly.. Becuase if he comes here, and is a major disspointment. It will be terrible for not just me as a fan, but i would be hesistant to believe in another Euro player ( who had the "soft" label ever again)

The Raptors probably have some of the best Euros on their team, and they havent even won a playoff series. The best teams in the NBA have maybe 1 or 2 Euros, but are surrounded by a LOT of American Players.

    Oh well
