It's actually the opposite. I think the unregulated internet will give them a love and understanding of real freedom, instead of progressive/liberal authoritarianism. It's the only light we have, besides humanity itself.
Nope. Internet youth are overwhelmingly liberal. Reddit is being flooded by posts making fun of conservatives. Thank goodness generation Z probably will be rid of the idiots who want to end the separation of church and state.
Freedom from religion, for sure. From the state? That will have to wait for a few generations. (we took a poll in one of my classes, 60% were non-religious. It's actually almost weird if you are religious---fervently so is weird as hell)
...this is based on your survey of coffee houses, or Ron Paul rallies? at least have an anecdote. weak evidence is better than none.
Except that Reddit is not a political forum and is not officially or even unofficially representative of any political party or viewpoint. As far as I've noticed so far the vast majority of people on the web are liberal.
Social conservatism is dead. This is something different. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/WUecyLP_Mjc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> "Thursday, March 29, 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul attracted an amazing more than 5,200 supporters and undecided voters to a college campus town hall meeting in Wisconsin, breaking his record of drawing large crowds to campaign events."
But the majority of its users are liberal so you get the endless stream of anti-repub posts/ links -- and Santorum memes.
We did. We won the War on Accomplishment. Handily. Also, have you looked at your grandfather lately? I have. Gen X all the way. Sure, he has all those medals collecting rust in some musty old dresser drawer, but he's not exactly pulling his weight around the house. Win a fight, much less an all-out generational war? Against us? I bet the old man can't even take a punch.
Marginalize it all you want. But there are vaild reasons why current, diverse college crowds have no interest in a big, authoritative government.
Every generation is more progressive than the one that came before it. That's progress. Thank goodness.

i don't even find that offensive at all, if that's supposed to be some sign of progressiveness. (I actually have to NSFW this ****) Spoiler <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/jw61dzPLXVA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> ponnnnn de floor.
Truly progressive: <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/jVe95s6gH1s?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
