http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...moderate-ever/2011/08/25/gIQArzcRwQ_blog.html Interesting article. It suggests some reasons why Obama appears to be more moderate than Clinton and the author even doubts he's really is, but recognizes that Obama clearly isn't the leftist radical the right accuses him of being.
The technical term is social democrat. What about the president who instituted a cap-and-trade system, nationalized banks, and raised deficits to eye-racking levels?
I am very curious about what they based that chart off of. Considering that JFK's signature domestic policy was a tax cut and was a strident Cold Warrior I don't think he was that Liberal as we currently think of it. Carter was considered a moderate even conservative Democrat and wasn't a New Dealer. On the other hand Nixon did something that most current liberals would consider unthinkable and placed wage and price controls. Carter was the one who did away with those and was partly why we had both economic contraction and inflation under Carter. [EDIT] I see Cannonball has posted the methodology. As noted that doesn't measure ideology but coalition strength. As such I don't think this graph is a good indication of "liberal" or "conservative".

...I was actually talking about Reagen, but I guess that's how generic Republican presidents are when they come to completely contradictory positions embraced by the modern GOP.
You'd think there were easier ways for Obama to get in touch with Vlad than telling his deputy to pass the word.
after? what is this "after" you speak of- it's the one reason, above all others, that the issue is even in doubt.
When idiots can't rationalize the policies of appeasing the 1% they need a bumper sticker name for it, and that name is "class warfare". Just wait until the real class war begins (after Obama is re-elected).
