    I weep for the future.

Eminem is a novelty rapper, Tupac was the truth.

"Hi my name is, hi my name is, hi my name is.... Slim Shady"

    Genius.....

the **** kinda list is this? Where is Budden? Where is Canibus? Phonte? JMT? Celph Titled? and how the **** did Nas lose to Wu-Tang? I mean I love Wu-Tang but Nas can hand each and every one of them their ass one by one, lyrically. Deck and Ghost would be the only ones to stand a chance.

and 2Live Crew? are you seriousssssssssss? Outkast beats EB and Rakim? Cmon.

as far as Em versus Pac, lyrically, Em ****s on Pac. But 2pac is still the greatest in my opinion. I doubt we will have anyone who meant as much to hip hop as him, for a while. Pac is what everyone strives to be like. He's the Hendrix of rap.

I agree with the Pac part, but cmon, yeah Em's bull**** radio songs were weak. But nobody, absolutely nobody can **** with Eminem when he's on it. I don't care who you choose, put any lyricist in front of him, and he rips them.

For my generation: grandmaster melle mel was the lyricist master. If you really go back and listen to some of his songs you can actually hear the hiss of the streets: even on songs like beatstreet breakdown. his deliver was the heart and soul of what rap was back then.

If Eminem was black he'd still be rapping on a street corner.

He blew up with cheesy commercial rap with the unique selling point of being white.

The appeal of a good white rapper might have been one of the main reasons he became famous quickly, but that doesn't take away from his skill and abilities. Name one other hip hop artist right now that is better than him lyrically?

But you're missing my point, Eminem came up by forgetting what Hip Hop is about, instead of staying true to his style, he turned to Hip-Pop and commercially sold out.

He then makes songs dissing Pop artists for making generic music, the irony is shocking.

I don't doubt his talent at all, but his hypocrisy just leaves a bad taste.

You're kidding right? Sure, you can hate on Eminem's more "cheesy" stuff that appealed to pop kind of stations, that's fine. Justified even. But that's how he came up? That's ridiculous. Slim Shady LP and Marshall Mathers LP were awesome. Even Eminem Show had numerous good tracks. You can even throw out all the "cheesy" songs from them and still have a sizeable playlist that beats the crap out of practically anything these days.

As for the actual topic, you really still have to lean towards Tupac, but to actually sit here and make it seem like such a far cry that Eminem wins, and then to try to dismiss his talent and accomplishments as a rapper. Please. Tupac was great, yes, no one denies that. But Eminem is not far behind, if not in the same discussion.

His broad appeal was cemented by Hip-Pop. His albums have always and probably will always have great songs on them, I'm not denying that, it is just the hipocrisy of him hating on pop artists that grates.

Once again I'll clarify, Eminem is a good rapper, I'm not doubting his musical or lyrical talent.

What the hell... why is "8-Mile" a region? Wu-Tang is in that region? Nas? Too Short? Everyone else? What in the actual **** is this terrible bracket? Worst thing ever, ESPN.

On a lyrical and spittin level no rapper would dare to battle Em, the guy is just crazy with the flow, speed and word play. Burko, check his debut album "Infinite", follow the lyrics and delivery of his albums, how he rides the beat, etc. Very, very few rappers come close to that, he's on another level. The argument doesn't involve "sh!ts on pop and goes pop" or "his biggest singles were cheesy", so leave that garbage out of the debate.

For Pac, he had the greatest influence and put out some deep songs, but overall the majority of his work was braggin, don't get fooled by "Change", "Do For Love", "Letter To My Unborn", "So Many Tears", etc. He never was one of the greatest if you go from a skill level, neither were his flow or lyrics advanced. He was good, but if it wasn't for the fame he'd never be considered a GOAT rapper.

To the poll: It strikes me that Jay-Z wins 81/19 over Kane, Kane was a damn beast on the lyrics and innovations. You can argue that Jay wins, but only by a tiny margin. Next round he destroys ATCQ, really?

Other division, I'm glad that Del slaughtered Lil Wayne. Del is one of my favourites, his albums are crazy and unique. Outkast gettin over 70% vs. Eric B. Rakim? Not sure about that.
