Talk to their owner. Anyway, I agree Nash probably won't stay in Phoenix since he's making it clear he wants to be in a winning situation. But I can see a team like Indiana or Portland being willing to match that kind of money for Nash considering how good he still is. He'll have choices this summer for sure.

    Nash is Immortal?

Well I may have been a tad bit dramatic. ;)

But still you never know what could happen in the regular season and the playoffs especially. Nash's abilities to find the open man, hit the three ball, and be the clutch free throw guy could make the Heat one of the best teams of all time. He could hit a buzzer beating 3, hit clutch free throws that seal the game, make the big assist all in the playoffs. They would playing the Heat's highlight clips of there championship run on ESPN and he would get some screen time I'm sure. :p

Yeah, I was saying it depends on if he's really willing to take the mini MLE to get a ring. He was never really paid like an over-the-top superstar throughout his career, so he might not be as keen on giving up so much money. I think Indiana is one of the better situations if he still wants to get paid.

    Underestimating Nash

This would be in an ideal world. I am sure if LeBron got a season ending injury the Heat's title chances go out the window. I think you underestimate the upgrade Nash is to Collison in terms of playmaking ability and accurate shooting. The Pacers would be contenders with a legit shot at the championship.

I think he'd fit better with NY, well if D'antoni was still there.

Isn't KG a free agent also? Imagine Nash & KG to South Beach? Criminal, even at their advanced ages. They'd have to take the minimum.

Stern would make sure the Lakers & Heat made the NBA Finals.

Sure, Nash would listen. But I'd imagine the conversation would go something like this.

Riley: Hi Steve. Come to Miami. You get to pass to Lebron, Wade, Bosh, be on national TV every night, live in Miami, enjoy the beaches, everything you want.
    Nash: Okay. What's your offer?
Riley: We only have the MLE right now, so 3yr/$9mil. That's the just as much as what Shane Battier signed.
    Nash: ....
    ...

    Nash makes them contender

Why? I didn't say they would be the favorites. But there aren't too many teams better then them right now. They are already 5th place in the East with the 4th best record. Only 3 teams in the West have a better record which is OKC, SAS, and LAL. So by record they are the 7th best team this season as of now. And if you get into the argument of the West vs East, the Pacers are 10-4 against the West with wins over Clippers, Dallas, Minnesota, Utah, and Lakers. How many teams would you say would be the favorites to beat the Pacers in a 7-game series this year? Bulls, Heat, OKC, SAS, LAL, and Orl. LAC and Mavs would be a trick coin flip leaning towards those two. Adding Nash would leapfrog them over Mavs, LAC, and Orl. I consider being a top 5 team in contender territory. Thoughts?

He's only trying to get as much help as Kobe had in 2004, when he had a prime Shaq, a 35 year old Payton (who dropped 20/8/2 the season before coming to LA) and a 40 year old Malone (who dropped 21/8/5/2 the season before coming to LA). But hey, let's act like this is the first time we have seen this type of thing. ;)

As far as Nash in Miami....if healthy can you imagine guys having to leave him on the perimiter or Wade and LeBron in transition/motion with him at the point? Good luck with that.

I'll never understand why the Heat and only the Heat has the championship or bust label on them. First of all, Boston basically did the same thing with 3 stars coming together, and that time they even had Perkins and Rondo in the lineup! And even then, they needed help from two vets (forgot their name) spelling both Pierce and KG to win a ring. So just because you have Lebron, Wade and Bosh on team doesn't mean they have overwhelming talent, OKC is also stacked the same way (KD, Harden, WB) except they have a frontline of Ibaka and Perkins.

If Nash goes to Miami the team won't have any issues adjusting because both Lebron and Wade are good shooters and know how to move without the ball. Nash getting the ball would definitely boos their C and Bosh's stats, just like how Nash boosted Amare's career. I think he should go there and compete for a ring.

I wouldnt rule out a team giving him a one year 18 million dollar deal that will be hard to pass up.

It's neither good or bad. It's how the league works, and I don't recall too many folks having an issue with it when Malone/Payton did it in 2004. And it's the same thing we wished players would have done when we had Yao/T-Mac. And we didn't have an issue with Pippen coming over in 99 either, or when Willis came for the low-low.

Of course there was an issue, everybody in the league was talking about it.

Problem is a few of the big 4 were injury riddled throughout the season, and they got stonewalled in the finals. That big 4 lasted about as long as Greg Oden's career.

So Miami will have 2 former MVPs and 1 former finals MVP?

Looks like Lebrick may get his multiple championships now.

I don't know about other people. That was one of my most hated team of all time.

We traded our franchise player for TMac. If Miami traded Wade for LeBron, nobody would have said anything.

Willis? You talkin' 'bout Willis? Not a real superstar, not a franchise guy? What are we talkin' 'bout? Willis? ;)
