That's one interpretation, but it exceeds the known facts.

The audio is simply not clear enough to determine what was said, If one is inclined to hear "coons", one is going to hear that. Confirmation bias.

To add, I think Zimmerman thought he was doing the right thing. He thought he had a potential criminal and wanted police on the scene. The problem is, he instigated the situation by following (as stated by the 911 call) Trayvon in ANY manner.

We really don't know what happened exactly. It's easy to speculate either way:

    1. Martin attacked Zimmerman after being angered because George asked him why he was there.

    2. Zimmerman tried to detain Martin and Martin fought back.

Either way, with Zimmerman packing heat (against Neightborhood watch standards) and ignoring the dispatchers statement that he didn't need to follow Martin, ended up costing a young man his life.

I'm almost done reading about this and researching anymore because it's just sad how everybody is acting.

I understand that there is a disagreement between liberals/conservatives on how minorities are treated and how they act in society. There is a deep distrust of authorities and in a sense it's still warranted in present day. The way the police/state DA have allegedly mishandled the case along with the apparent holes in Zimmerman's story is glaring to me (my opinion of course).

All we can hope for is that the truth comes out and we can learn from all this nonsense without any more needless bloodshed.

I have no idea what happened from the get-go. What I do know is that he wasn't arrested, and there is physical evidence that doesn't match up with Zimmerman's version of events.

    Funny GIF.

Cliffnotes for those too lazy to read.
    1. Don't follow someone on foot if you think they are suspicious. Leave it to the police.
    2. If you are followed and / or questioned by someone who thinks you are suspicious try to remain calm.
    4. In either situation don't let your temper get the best of you.

I'm not faulting him for saying the guy is black. I've called the police on people twice in my life, and both times given the color of their skin. I'm just not ignorant to the fact that he did notice a black teenager, and that being black probably contributed to his calling the police.

Black people were the highest on the list, and there are far fewer of them in the population.

at this point it will very difficult to prove if zimmerman did or did not racially profile trayvon.

but to say there are absolutely NO evidence or facts currently available to support either side is WRONG.

It is very hard to prove racial profiling, since we can't tell what somebody is thinking.

There is a lot of debate as to whether that is what he actually said. If it is proven conclusively that he did in fact use that term, then that is damning circumstantial evidence.

You are reallllllllllly stretching it. So suddenly at age 28 he becomes racist in the month of August? Come on.... besides he called about a "white" waiter 3 months prior to the Martin shooting....
He has atleast as many calls for whites/hispanics as blacks.

Sept 2005: White guy driving car with out of state tags. (traffic offense)

June 2007: Reported 2 hispanic men and 1 white guy with a slim jim outside of a car. Police came and they were locked out if it. (suspicious behavior)

Nov 2007: Called about his white ex-roomate being at his apartment a few days after he moved out. His ex roomate and random people were throwing things at George's truck. (suspicious& criminal behavior)

Jan 2010: Called to complain that a white couple was arguing outside. (disturbance)

Aug 3, 2011: Calls and reports a black male that could have been involved in the recent burglaries. (exactly what behavior prompted him aside from the color of their skin)

Aug 6, 2011: Same as above except 2 black males this time. (exactly what behavior prompted him aside from the color of their skin)

Oct 1, 2011: Same as above. 2 suspicious black males. (exactly what behavior prompted him aside from the color of their skin)

Dec 10, 2011: Calls about a white server at the club house that showed up wanting to work and get paid. (suspicous behavior)

Feb 2, 2012: Calls about a black guy being in a white man's residence. (does he also call in white people in a black residence?)

Feb 26, 2012: Trayvon Martin (suspicious for walking slowly or simply being black in a hoodie)

Do you know how many black people live in the neighborhood and adjacent apartment complex? I don't....... perhaps it is 50% black? Maybe it is 2%?. I don't know, but you are not considering all of the possibilities.

Thank you, that proves my point... he make calls about white, hispanic and black people..... Does it prove he ISN'T racist? No, of course not.... impossible to prove...... but it does not substantiate the claim he is racist....

It may be proven he is a racist, I have never met the man, and honestly do not want to...... however, I do not see anything that makes me think "Yeah, he is a racist"...... If the derogatory term is proven to be what he said, then that is damning, but so far they have not done that..... and his 911 reporting does not hurt him on the charge of racism in my opinion.
