The conservative politicos on the court are in a bind. They would like to help defeat Obama as the Kochs and other right wingers they hang out want. On the other hand they have the insurance industry that probably likes the last ditch attempt by Obama to keep them making big bucks as middle men in the health care industry.

He may not care, but it's still an embarrassment for him. His last two budgets have gotten 0 votes in Congress. That's not impressive.

Another swing and a miss. I didn't call it a symbolic victory. It's not. Keep making wrong assumptions.

The question is whether we organize our social responsibility by religion or government. Whether it's a voluntary compliance or a mandated participation in our national society.

I know me and I'm not the worst; better mandate it. Because the people that need it can't afford personal economic adjustments or ideological vacillation,

It's not an embarrassment because *no one cares*. His budgets were DOA anyway - everyone knew that, so there was no reason for Democrats to take the difficult vote. The only people that think it's embarrassing are the people who held the vote in order to try to embarrass the President.

I called it a symbolic victory - that was the purpose of the vote by the GOP. The GOP are the ones that seem more interested in those symbolic victories than accomplishing anything. You're the one that promotes that view by bringing irrelevant things up as negatives for Obama.

If nobody supports any budgets you make. that's embarrassing.

There are lots of reasons to bring it up for vote that have nothing to do with 'symbolic victories'. For example, it's nice to get every politicians votes on record so come election time they are forced to stand by said vote.
