Parsons is a good player at best. I don't see allstar games in his future. I think his celing is Tay Prince and his bottom is another C-bud. It's fun to get excited about players but some of y'all need to lay off the dope . ....

    Prince is the best comparison.

One difference i know is that Parsons is more active and talkative on the floor. He'll ask questions and talk to teammates. Prince is one of those guys will listen to coaches and teammates and won't talk a lot. Prince is a quiet guy and will do anything and won't ask questions.

Parsons is the illegitimate child of Mike Dunleavy Jr and his best friend Shane Battier.

That sounds about right could be higher or a little lower. Around the right area. He is probably not gonna be a key cog like the top half 3 guys. He is right in that 4th to 7th best option among the rookie classes who could turn into real solid starting contributers in the NBA. Perhaps like Gerald Wallace.

I rode in a taxi cab once with someone famous, we got to the same destination...but to be honest he paid 99% of the fare.

Parsons' stats are slightly better than Pippen's first year stats. You never know.

How old were you when Scottie was in his prime?

    Just Curious.

To be honest nothing Parsons does makes him seem like a scoring star. He doesn't have a quick first step, doesn't seem explosive, has a suspect jump shot (I know, he's been shooting better as of late), isn't fantastic at much offensively. He seems lanky. It seems like Parsons is one of those guys that come into the NBA already somewhat polished? Don't hate...just giving my opinion.

Yeah, his ceiling is pretty low.

Once he gets more experience, he can become a souped up version of Shane Battier and that would be wonderful.

Man, who would of thought he'd be so good? Especially on D. I remember when people were talking about him likely to be cut before the season started.

I have to disagree with you. He is able to get past his man and to the basket pretty frequently, which makes me think his first step may be deceptively quick (perhaps because of his size?) He has split double teams on more than one occasion, and as far as explosiveness is concerned he is one of the few players on our team who takes the ball to the hole with authority and tries to dunk every chance he gets. What you are referring to as "lanky" is often referred to as "long" when talking about other players, and it is generally a good thing. Maybe you are referring to his weight, which in that case I would agree with you that he could benefit from adding a few pounds. (not hating, just giving my opinion about your opinion :p)

Does anyone think Parsons has the ability to become a two guard? Bill Worrell brought up a good point during the Kings game recently but Clyde shot it down, that if Parsons improved his outside shot, he could become a two guard. I think he can guard 2s, 3s, and 4s.

I thought this was a good point because it would get Marcus Morris on the court in the future, it would make the Rockets a stronger rebounding team and better defensive team.

With Courtney Lee starting, the Rockets will never have an advantage at the 2, he is good coming off the bench but he does not give you an advantage at his position...he is average at best as a starter.

JT never posed an advantage for the Rockets (he was 6'3.5 - 6'5 max) nor could he pass or rebound, he was simply a scorer.

Parsons is a five tool player, similar to an all-star in baseball, he does everything well (just needs to work on his shooting)!;)

I like Lee a lot as a 2 guard. The thought of Morris starting makes me cringe. I don't think his defense is anywhere close to Parsons or Lee's. On offense he appears to have nothing to offer when the ball is not in his hands. Bring him off the bench if you want but don't start him.

I think this off-season is going to be crucial for the Rockets, with Martin still on the team, Lee a RFA and Marcus Morris waiting on the bench, we have to find out if Morris can or can not play. I think we have to look at the future at that position, as well as power forward and center.

Parsons, Dragic and Lowry are legit, Lee is average, the same for Scola and Dalembert. We need another player who can play defense and score.
