You know that makes sense to me. And to be honest at some point I do expect Zimmerman to be arrested and charged with something. Most likely manslaughter because he did chase Treyvon for a few seconds. The thing I think is most important is Due Process. Dooley was not arrested right away but the did eventually arrest him once they had enough evidence to file charges.
Bull****. Otherwise, you would understand how much of an advantage grossly outweighing your opponent is.
This is straight up wrong. I know this from experience (being the heavier guy some times and the lighter guy other times). But if you don't believe me, look at every single interview with a pro fighter who moved up in weight class and was questioned about the difference fighting naturally bigger guys make and they are talking about giving up a few dozen pounds at most, not 100lbs. Unless there is a big gap in skill level, a huge weight advantage is the best thing you can have in a fight.
Thomas Hearns and Paul Williams are about the same height and weight as Martin and they throw a pretty good punch. I'm not sure that saying just because Zimmerman outweighs Trayvon by a hundred pounds he would win the fight -- not the best argument. /just saying
Video of Zimmerman at the police station on the night of the incident has been released. It shows him getting out of the patrol car upon arrival. Zimmerman's head has no visible scratches or blood at all. The back of his head definitely also hadn't received anything close to a savage beating. His nose doesn't appear broken at the time. Also Zimmerman doesn't look super portly. He appears in decent shape. He isn't an athlete or anything, but also not the chubrock from the previous mug shot. The lack of injuries on Zimmerman really cast doubt on the severity of any damages that Martin was inflicting that night. http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/riptide/2012/03/surveillance_video_of_george_z.php
You no nothing little girl. Go back to giving your lunch money to the big bad bully at school. Now run along before you piss yourself.
Has everyone forgotten that Zimmerman was a neighborhood watch captain and was on the phone with the police? If he had ulterior motives why not act on the sly?
The video also shows that Zimmerman had no blood on the front of his shirt at all. It seems that if his broken nose was bleeding very bad there would be some blood on the front of his shirt. Also if he fired at close range on Martin, like while Martin was on top of him, there might be some blood on his shirt.
So which is it? You want to "diminish" his effort (isn't that how everyone reaches the police?) and then on the other hand you want to criticize him for not obeying. IIRC, they say they did not "need him" to follow Martin. Sufficiently vague I would say so as not to be mistaken for "specific instructions." Zimmerman probably thought, "she's just the dispatcher, I'll wait until the cops get here..." That's what watch captains do.
Also noticed in the video that the police while handling Zimmerman aren't wearing gloves which is normally standard procedure when a suspect is bleeding or there's blood present. In addition his shirt doesn't look dirty for what can be seen in the video. This is pretty damaging evidence against Zimmerman's version of what happened or at least what we've heard about it.
How would a fight go between you and this slower, weaker, shorter person who likely outweighs you by 100 pounds or more?
Looking at the video of the night Travon was killed, Zimmerman was in far better shape than the photo you posted. He may have been slightly overweight, but definitely wasn't grossly out of shape.
That just means that he had been cleaned up by the paramedics. What we know is: that the police said he was bleeding; that he was treated at the scene by paramedics; and, he sought additional treatment the next day. But regardless of how severe his injuries were, the law does not allow an attacker to pummel a victim into a coma before the victim gets to use deadly force. The standard is a reasonable fear of losing one's life or a reasonable fear of suffering great bodily injury. It's a fear thing, not an injury thing.
So theoretically, in Florida, if I was to follow somebody at a bar, get them to somehow throw the first punch and if they were beating up on me because I said something or did something to tick them off even though they were initially going by at their own business, I technically have the right to pull out a gun and shoot them if I claim to be "fearing for my life?"
Did the paramedics give him a new shirt? He had no bandages or anything on his nose or back of his head. Were his injuries so minor that no apparent sign of anything would be present? What I know is that some people in this thread were talking about Martin punching him and knocking him to the ground, and then bashing his head into the ground. That clearly didn't happen.
The dispatcher made an error and said, 'you don't need to follow him' -- he should have said, 'do not follow him stay in your car'.
Not a lot of detail, but Zimmerman certainly doesn't look like he's been in a brawl with a broken nose and gashes on the back of his head.
