Post your Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire) book series by George R. R. Martin here. It's assumed that you've read through book 5, A Dance With Dragons, if you're posting/reading this thread. Otherwise you're bound to read spoilers. Please keep news/spoiler chapters from NEW books past ADWD spoilered.
I wonder if most of us have already read all the towerofthehand.com essays and westeros.org forum discussions over these topics. I certainly wouldn't be able to add any more than what has been compiled over there. My personal feeling is that the R+L=J is true. It could only seem to be obvious b/c people have had the time to dissect the theory to death after all these years. Otherwise, for most first time readers, it is a fresh and exciting concept that hasn't been thought of. IMO, GRRM intended this to be a juggernaut revelation, but he's taken too long to get there for that effect.
Here's a good one. Is Tyrion really Tywin's son? I have a pet theory that the Mad King Aerys fathered him.
so is this where i would spoiler Spoiler the red wedding with no spoiler tags, and then declare how it effected me for two weeks, actually it still effects me
watch a few episodes of the tv show. If it seems like your thing then stop watching the show and start reading the books.
I believe the theory goes something like this. First, the prophecy I think Melisandre states: "when the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst smoke and salt to wake dragons out of stone" So, for smoke, we have the knife wounds Jon suffers at the hands of Bowen Marsh (condensation in the cold air). Salt from Marsh's tears. red star bleeds - while all this is going on we there is also the knight that was being beaten/killed by the giant. the knight's heraldry is a star and he's bleeding all over it. Wake dragons - if you believe R+L=J, then J is a Targ and therefore a dragon.
I'm at about the same place and I just finished the wedding yesterday. Holy ****balls. Then the Arya chapter after that. SoS is about as intense of a read there is.
What'd I like to know is who is the guy at the Citadel with the Sphinx was it? Then he goes to meet some mysterious guy and the ground shakes and he passes out. What is up with the mysterious guy and this storyline?
fancy this. A Game of Thrones thread where the book readers can talk amongst themselves with no fear of spoiling the other thread. wow. y'all have two threads.
one of the things i believe is that arya will assassinate a lanister with oathkeeper, also, there is no way jon snow and danaerys don't end up on the iron throne together
