Right now, Dragic, Lee and Parsons, starting for Rockets, and then Boykins and Budinger comes in and one of the starter stay in the game and then rotate. Boykins is not that really good in term of create offense and Budinger just come in and shot some, if he feels good and he will keep shooting, otherwise there is no offense and defense from him and he is just not aggressive enough to drive inside and bang bang like lee or parsons. And then we put our starters back in the game try to catch up the lost scoring.
I think it is time for rockets to try something different, how about create a offense move for Marcus Morris? he showed us he can score if give the ball. I don't care if you say that he cannot run team offensive and he has to have the ball in his hand in order to score. At end of the day, we need some good one on one match-ups just like Scola's post offense. Nobody is able to help the second unit to score.
I mean why we drafted him at 14th and not playing him, Mchale was a former GM and he knows how important to develop your young guys by put them in the right spot and have regular NBA playing time. That is how they develop. Everyone on this board see he has potential, and he can play defense better than budinger, and he is not unmotivated like T-Will. So I want a good reason why we not playing him? This is so frastrating and with the current line-ups, we are still gonna be at 14th in the draft this summer and who would want that happen again?

    I actually agree with you.

I think it has been time to give Morris a serious shot at PT.

The few times he's been inserted he's really shown his strength when he iso's his man on the post. However, if you go back and watch tape you will see that those plays they are running for him are extremely sloppy and more than a few guys look like they dont know where they need to be during the play. Those Power 3 sets really aren't going to work with Morris until they can really go through a good offseason camp and implement some of those sets into their offense. This late in the season, it just doesn't make sense to change that much about their offense.

If you are going to play him at the 3 running alot of the sets they are running now he wont be the best option as a passer/facilitator/jump shooter/defender. Morris will get his chance next season most likely. I know the coaches and front office love this guys game and rave on his talent all the time.

One thing that was interesting to me was when Bill Worrell brought up the other night that he thinks actually moving Parsons to the SG spot next season will happen if he improves his shooting. He kept on saying the size factor would really bother other teams, and plugging Morris in a lineup with Parsons at the 2 guard spot would make sense eventually. Then think about Montiejunas as a stretch 4 in that system and it all kind of makes sense how you could plug in a power 3 in that offensive set.

Anyways, we will see how it all works out next year, but for the remainder of the season you wont see much of Morris unless they fall out of the playoff hunt.

I would really like to see.......

Parsons at the 2 and Morris at the 3

especially during games like last night when Lee is struggling with his shot.

In last night's game, JET was tearing Lee a new one and Marion and Dirk were both a little too strong for Chase on the post ups. I'm wondering if we had went a little bit bigger at the 2/3 with Morris having more bulk to throw at Marion, plus a pretty nice 3-point shot from the corner, and we had put Parson's length on JET if we would have been better off. McHale finally went ultra small at the last part of the game. That really didn't work.

It's unfortunate that we are in a playoff chase and we don't have time to experiment a little bit here.

But I'm with you, OP. I'd like to see Morris get some run and there are opportunities to put him in when Lee isn't hitting his shots.

The offense completely changes when Morris comes into the game. Not saying that is good or bad, but it probably will mean more losses in the short term.

Yes Parsons and Morris should play Dirk there is no way Scola or Camby can keep up with him atleast Morris or Parsons and stay with him if he drifts out to the 3pt line. Morris can definately post Marion and make him his b****...Budinger should only back up Lee at the 2.

If we keep falling in the standings, then MM should get more PT.

Might as well give him some burn.

My biggest beef with McHale is that he is mismanaging the shortened season, take a look at Popovich for how it should be done, give guys nights off, play more of the bench, keep everyone healthy.

McHale ran the starters into the ground against Sacremento and they ran out of gas against Dallas because the plan never changed.

I know for a fact (atleast I think I do) that if Dirk has to hold Morris on the perimeter he can just blow by him...

Because we are rushing into the playoff in the wild-wild west, there is no time to put an unproven rookie into games and see how he works in the team.
As a supporter I really like to see Mook getting some serious role though, coaches should not take a lisk when the team on the border line of playoff doing well.

My issues with that are that I dont think Chandler at 6'9" is a guard. Maybe he could do it but I tend to agree with Clyde on this one when he told Bill that Chandler is just to big to play guard.

I'm also not sold on Marcus Morris as a defender. Perhaps he's stronger than Chandler but I just don't see the same effort on defense from MM.

I'm thinking that the Rockets should try bringing MM off of the bench at the 3 and Bud off the bench at the 2.

Just like they did for T-Will ... and we all know how that worked out.

I'd love to see MM out there, but I don't see how it will happen, unless the playoffs are out of reach.

Terrence Williams was a completely difference scenario. There was ALOT more going on behind the scenes than the fans knew about.

we couldnt afford to lose against sacramento..a game we were supposed to win..and then lose against dallas. which was probably gonna happen regardless of having our starters rested. every game matters at this point.

So he shouldn't play guard because he's to big? that makes absolutely no sense at all. If he has the foot speed to keep up with the 2's of the league and he can handle the rock, there is absolutely no reason his height should hold him back. If anything it would make him a bigger mismatch.
