Although since we're all about waiting for all the facts it should be noted no charges were ever filed against Martin relating to stolen jewelry. Even though the jewelry was sent to the police, and inquiries about the jewelry were put out.
We agree on the media bias, which resulted in many angry posters earlier in the thread. I was even called a racist for this. Glad you've come around to see things more clearly.
Truly sad and disgusting. Imagine the comments at the end of ROTJ if Luke Skywalker bends down to take off his father's mask and James Earl Jones is staring everyone in the face.
That's not an order. Still, yes he should have listened. The tape I just heard (you can maybe find it online) was from a witness who saw it happening. He said (paraphrashing) that one guy was on top of another, beating him up. The guy being beat up (he described as wearing a red shirt, referencing Zimmerman) called to him to help. He then said he saw the guy on top get shot and was on the ground dead a few moments later. His story was clear and he was not hysterical or trying to editorialize with his story. He used descriptions of clothing to identify the two people. As for why he didn't help, I think the 6'3 160 pound thing is being overplayed. He saw a guy being attacked. People don't help rape victims during a rape, you think they want to go get involved in an assault in the dark?
One curious thing about some of the latest developments is that the City Manager of Sanford is launching an investigation and threatening to fire the party(ies) responsible for the leak of info. After firing the police chief, it's like the city does not want to allow the police a chance to defend their reputation.

It's become a ridiculous and disappointing circus -- an ugly barometer of our culture. I don't think this has any way of ending well. Time to sit back and have a drink while this whole thing continues to unfold. I hope the Martin family can find some kind of peace and Zimmerman is fully/properly investigated.
Mother Seeks Trayvon Martin Trademarks http://www.thesmokinggun.com/documents/trayvon-martin-trademarks-769123 This doesn't look good anyway you want to slice it.
OK just heard the tape again. The witness actually said that he saw Zimmerman (referred to as guy in the red shirt) getting assaulted, with the other guy on top of him. The guy on bottom called for help. He told the other one to stop and then went in to call 911 and when he got upstairs calling 911 and looked outside that Treyvon had been shot and was dead. This is apparently the only actual eyewitness, the others apparently have only reported hearing the situation. It's also now not clear that he disobeyed the 911 operator. A reporter from Fox in Orlando is saying that Zimmerman's story is after he got off the phone with 911 he went back to his car and that's when Treyvon came after him. I may have misheard that a little. His friend is also on the news suggesting that Zimmerman may have stopped the pursuit after being ordered to do and was returning to his car. He suggested that there is information in the hands of the investigators that will prove Zimmerman's innocence.
Reporter in Orlando just confirmed that "John" the witness who saw it happen has confirmed with the police that it was Zimmerman on the bottom being assaulted via a photo they showed him.
His mom just destroyed her own credibility and the nationwide sympathy she's been getting. Extremely unfortunate. Outrage about Zimmerman not getting arrested is one thing but trying to profit off her dead son's name? Sigh...
I feel sorry if BigTess has the role of administering his brand of life decisions to the future of our country. See BigTess. It doesn't matter even if Travon had stolen jewelry before. Or traces of weed in his back pack. Thats part of growing up. Making bad decisions and learning from them. Are you trying to insinuate that anyone who used weed is automatically a thug who deserves to die? None of that had anything to do with the fact that Zimmerman instigated a confrontation by initiating a falsified report of a "problem". Unless you want to claim that this child was indeed being a problem in his attempt to walk home after buying candy. What is lost on you is that if he doesn't stereotype a black child then there is no problem. If he doesn't follow the kid to his house, there isn't a problem. If he followed the instructions of someone who clearly knew better than him, there wouldn't be a problem. If he doesn't allow himself to get into a fight with a child, and yes running away is an option when you are an adult dealing with a child or before you know if he is an adult or not. See if one of my kids does something that causes a problem I usually follow up with them by stating something along the lines of....Well if you didn't start the problem there wouldn't of been a bigger problem. I feel sorry that you may teach anyone that its ok to initiate a problem. Its ok to go against the advice of someone who knows better than you. Its ok to fight with a child even if you an adult. Its ok to shoot someone because you were losing a fight. Using your mentality anyone who is losing a fight has the right to shoot someone else. Id imagine that would of meant youd have the right to shoot a lot of people in your life. LOL
On one hand it's a lesson for us not to sentence an accused person before all the facts come out. The real tragedy is that a young man will not be able to grow up and realize his potential. I'm glad that the truth is coming out and that an inocent man is being proven innocent but it will not change the fact that a young man lost his life and a family will be changed forever.
Treyvon was certainly guilty of being 17. I was guilty of the same thing at one time and probably deserved many ass whippens that I managed to avoid. It's very sad that a 17 year old young man had to pay the ultimate price for his mistake.
Via photo? At night, while raining, while he was on the floor under someone else? He may not be lying, but how credible is that really?

Former NAACP leader accuses Sharpton and Jackson of ‘exploiting’ Trayvon Martin Read more: http://dailycaller.com/2012/03/26/f...n-of-exploiting-trayvon-martin/#ixzz1qHHHIGav Former NAACP leader C.L. Bryant is accusing Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton of “exploiting” the Trayvon Martin tragedy to “racially divide this country.” “His family should be outraged at the fact that they’re using this child as the bait to inflame racial passions,” Rev. C.L. Bryant said in a Monday interview with The Daily Caller. The conservative black pastor who was once the chapter president of the Garland, Texas NAACP called Jackson and Sharpton “race hustlers” and said they are “acting as though they are buzzards circling the carcass of this young boy.” Jackson, for example, recently said Martin’s death shows how “blacks are under attack” and “targeting, arresting, convicting blacks and ultimately killing us is big business.” (SEE ALSO: Jesse Jackson says Trayvon Martin ‘murdered and martyred’) George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch captain, killed Martin, a 17-year-old black man who was unarmed at the time of his death, last month. Zimmerman has claimed to have shot Martin in self-defense and has not been charged with a crime. But Bryant, who explores the topic of black-on-black crime in his new film “Runaway Slave,” said people like Jackson and Sharpton are being misleading to suggest there is an epidemic of “white men killing black young men.” “The epidemic is truly black on black crime,” Bryant said. “The greatest danger to the lives of young black men are young black men.” Bryant said he wishes civil rights leaders were protesting those problems. “Why not be angry about the wholesale murder that goes on in the streets of Newark and Chicago?” he asked. “Why isn’t somebody angry about that six-year-old girl who was killed on her steps last weekend in a cross fire when two gang members in Chicago start shooting at each other? Why is there no outrage about that?” Bryant said he worries that “people like Sharpton and those on the left” will make Martin’s death a campaign issue in the presidential race. He speculated that they will “turn this evolving tragedy of this young man into fodder to say… if you don’t re-elect Obama then you will have unbridled events or circumstances like this happening in the streets to young men wearing hoodies.” (RELATED: Herman Cain criticizes ‘swirling rhetoric’ after Martin shooting) He also criticized President Obama for his “nebulous statement” responding to Martin’s death that “if I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.” “What does that mean?” Bryant asked. “What was the purpose in that?” Read more: http://dailycaller.com/2012/03/26/f...n-of-exploiting-trayvon-martin/#ixzz1qHHASiqi
Fair point. It may have been more specific than that, I didn't see the whole question and answer segment with her.
