I can say with 100% certainty that the ensuing court case will be centrally focused around Zimmerman's use of deadly force and whether it passes the test of self defense.
Yes, but that is a different statement from the one you made before. That's like saying water is wet.
Zimmerman's own language indicates that he thought that Martin was a criminal. State of mind. As such, Zimmereman would not have reasonably put himself into harms way unless he felt he was prepared to fully defend himself. Since Zimmerman knowingly put himself into a self described risky situation, he should not go into said situation with a Lethal firearm unless he was prepared to use it.
ATW is right. You should leave the incorrect legal statements to lawyers -- they're experts at making bogus claims about what the law says.
I did stay at a holiday inn last night. Seriously, I quoted earlier a site that is buried somewhere and I can't find the link on my iPad. But it very clearly illustrates an example that a bar fight is not justification to use deadly force when all participants willingly (even implicitly) enter into the fight. It seems to me that is exactly what we have here. Two guys got into a fight. The use of deadly force, it seems, is not justified.
The OJ Case of 2012...... Another reason to divide the nation once again... Damn it had to be during March Madness too...
He hooked up his homies with some bud (could have been the middleman). In that case, he deserved to be shot. Case closed.
or maybe his friend was inquiring about the Spring planting season? Hibiscus works so well in South Florida... yeah, so the squeaky clean image of a youth in the Hollister t-shirt seems to have crumbled in a hurry Was Martin perhaps doing a drug deal the night he was involved in all this? Perhaps that could explain his alleged aggression towards Zimmerman?
I hadn't heard that. He had been suspended before because of graffiti. And then recently for mar1juana. and another time for truancy. I have seen no record of him getting suspended for hitting a bus driver The twitter message seems very suspicious. Who would name their twitter account after their little brother? Really? The guy is only known because he's a big brother to Trayvon, and names his twitter account after that? It seems pretty fisher to me
Yeah allegedly swinging at a bus driver, dealing pot, getting suspended from school.....doesn't really fit Hollister 11 year old kid picture The details paint the picture of a violent, 17 year old criminal.
Here is a recent picture of both people: Remember, that Trayvon was 6'3 while Zimmerman is 5'9. It wasn't a grown man overpowering a little kid. Witnesses say Trayvon was on top of him beating him to a pulp and breaking his nose.
It is not illegal to follow a person in a neighborhood. It is illegal to assault someone. Your chicken or the egg argument is important. If I walk up and start kicking the crap out of you and then you start whipping my butt and I pull out my gun and shoot you I'm going to jail. This is not a hard concept. There is physical evidence and an eyewitness that said Treyvon assaulted Zimmerman. There is no evidence that I'm aware of that points towards Zimmerman being the aggressor. Following someone that you think is suspicious looking and trying to call the police is not being the aggressor.
Can legal experts say whether Zimmerman's past record of violent crimes (including battery on an officer, obstructing justice) be admissible?
