I think he just wanted a way to make some major slim-down points, and didn't want to get the tape-worm. he's gonna be faster/better and MORE confident when he comes back to the court. #lookingonthebrightsideofthings
how do you know its not a continuing problem? you keep saying it won't be, but really, how do you know? You have NO CLUE what caused it. NO CLUE if he'll be exposed to it again or how often. If Lowry doesn't know, and it looks like he doesnt, then surely you dont. Again, what is ridiculous is saying it's completely over and just a one time thing. And i'm referring to the draft day trade talks, not next season. the time to act would be then. Anything later would be another wasted season.
That will not be the only opportunity to make a trade this offseason. I don't expect a bacterial infection to scare away any suitors (has it ever?). To assume so, with the limited knowledge we have, is kind of silly.
You're asking us to prove a negative, RV6. For crying out loud, it's an infection. You're acting like he's got HIV and it'll be something which will follow him for the rest of his life. Infections suck. They can hinder you for a couple months, like multiple people including myself can testify. But it's not a constant thing.
I'm guessing he's thinking this is some kind of Alonzo Mourning scenario. A bacterial infection isn't some kind of chronic disease. We need to stop playing BBS doctor and making worst case scenario assumptions, it's a waste of all of our time.
Dude you are an idiot. He doesn't ****ing have HIV. He has a bacterial infection. Internal infections can take weeks to cure.
And seriously why is anyone surprised by this news? He has an internal infection. They are notorious for taking many weeks to cure completely. Did anyone really think he would make it back this season?
One thing is clear; luck is not on the Rocket's agenda. Other teams have bad luck too, like Portland, but in Houston sports, bad luck is a tradition. Next time a Houston sports team gets a break, they will probably win a championship. It is truly mind boggling.
bacterial infection could be anything... could have been pericarditis for all we know. some sort of minor form of meningitis?
Exactly. HIV The V stands for Virus. You don't take antibiotics to treat Virus, it's for bacterial infections. Next thing you know people will say he has cancer or diabetes.
It really is awesome how I had nearly the same diagnosis, post multiple times here and none of you react to my posts and spill out garbage as if I didn't say anything at all, why I explained how it can turn out and that it indeed can lead to chronic diseases, heavy weight loss and all the exact other things that Kyle is mentioning right now. Then some of you idiots throw out HIV, STD or something else, or keep saying bacterial infections aren't serious. I sometimes think the people post here without reading the thread or only read the dumb posts without acknowledging people that know more about bacterial infections or went through the same situation.
^^ I'm trying to help this thread and to stop all these dumb/uninformed posts, if you think this is funny you are a f...in douche.
Calm down... Nobody knows what infection Kyle has exactly, all we know is it's a bacterial infection.
Perhaps it won't completly scare them away, but i just don't agree that it has zero impact on his trade value. I can agree that it's more likely that this will be in his past come the trade deadline next year, or even at the start of the season...but IMO the time for Houston to make a big move is before that. That's a tough one. Could it be an infection caused by exposure to a certain type or amount of bacteria Look, my point is we simply dont know what it will be at this point. I'm not saying it's HIV or a life time thing. I didnt mean to imply one infection will last a life time, but that it he could get the infection again later. We dont know the cause, some people get it from something they do every day, week, month. Yes, it could be a one time exposure, i get that, but any GM that simply ignores it and doesn't ask questions, at least by this summer, is not doing his job properly. if the cause can't be pinpointed, you've got to worry about it happening again, or at the very least, use it to gain some kind of leverage in a deal. FWIW, i paid attention  That's why i talked about a possible chronic issue...people are assuming I meant HIV, but i was referring to what you said. It wasn't necessarily where i wanted to go with my argument, but you sounded credible. I' m not sure why people think it's impossible to get an infection more than once. You don't get strep throat and then are forever cured from it. (i know it's different from Kyle's, but same point)
I know, but when I see some of these ignorant posts where people say that bacterial infections are not serious, they cover up something, it may be HIV...or people blatantly saying this can't lead to chronic diseases or pop up a 2nd time, it's just plain wrong, and if you don't know anything about the various types of this then don't spill out wrong stuff here.
What are you talking about? It's too late to start tanking now. At best they'll get a 10-11 pick. They're right in the Playoff race. They might as well shoot for better seeding. They're only 1.5 games back of 5th.
