Got a citation by SLPD during spring break for failure to ID and misrepresetnation of age by a minor..Court date is on 3/28 but I'm in school right now (not in the Houston area). I'm reading up online and I read a few places that says school/work isn't a valid excuse. Anyone know a way I can get my court date reset? I obviously don't want any warrants out for me but would rather take care of this in a month or two when I'm back in the Houston area instead of paying $200+ for a flight right now. I know its alot easier to get it reset if you have an attorney but I haven't really had a chance looked into hiring one yet in the Houston area, especially since most do not discuss fees over email/phone. I'd be down to pay a lawyer to send a letter asking to reset if anyone on this board can point me in the right direction lol. Seems like I'm kinda screwed either way though. Any advice is appreciated.

Failure to show ID? Just send them a check for the penalty fee, what is it, $8?

It's probably something realllyy minor, but wouldn't that mean he'll have something in his record permanently? I'm no Lawtician, so would that have any future effects?
