Yeah. Um. I haven't made any logical assertions in this thread, erroneous or otherwise. I read about the case a few weeks ago, and have continued to follow the developments, but never felt that there was all that much more to D or D about it, so I stayed away from this thread until yesterday. I should have known better, but I was still appalled at the usual characters clamoring to make the story about themselves and their narrow world views. I think you've accomplished that, little texas. What a fine example you have set.

You should be ashamed of yourself. You are a small-minded wannabe e-hero who cannot put himself aside, even out of respect for the most grim and reprehensible of circumstances.

Sorry -- all I saw there were insults. Did you have a point you wanted to make about the case? Or are you just here to hurl insults?

The truths in this thread are self evident.

Yeah, that's what I thought -- you have no point.

    Good day.

Texxx, don't back down now. What is your point? 3 sentences or less.

Wouldn't the "Stand your ground" defense be more applicable to Martin than Zimmerman?

Zimmerman was pursuing him in his vehicle. Martin stands his ground and continues walking home.

Zimmerman gets out of the vehicle and advances on Martin, again. Zimmerman, who is physically more imposing, is a threat to his life, even if his handgun is concealed.

Zimmerman advances toward Martin, until they are close enough to get into a physical altercation. Martin now has Zimmerman in his face. Before Zimmerman could rob him, punch him, possibly pull out a knife and stab him, Martin makes jumps on Zimmerman to catch him by surprise.

At least, that's what Fox News reported from Jeb Bush.

There are more first hand witnesses that back up exactly what I said.
Actually I do. There is a witness on the phone with Martin who hears the whole thing. You just choose to ignore that fact.

Martin was innocent. The fact you are trying to suggest otherwise indicates that you aren't paying attention to ALL the facts. The fact that he was carrying skittles and tea means he wasn't armed, and the fact that there is a witness who was talking on the phone with Martin all the time up until he's attacked by Zimmerman, it shows that he wasn't a threat.

As for being treated by a paramedic or getting first aid, it backs up rather than disproves my claim about Zimmerman's injuries being very slight, and him needing no further medical attention.

If the injury was serious, the paramedic would taken Zimmerman to the hospital. Instead he received some first aid (which could be a band aid or a gauze pad and told to hold it up to his nose.)

The facts all go against Zimmerman. I'm not saying he's definitely guilty of murder, but he might be, and it could be premeditated. Because premeditated can mean it was hatched just minutes beforehand. I have no idea whether it was premeditated or not, but it's a possibility. Either way he deserves to be arrested and go trial for taking the life of the innocent kid, Martin.

Based on the information that's been provided, this logic leap cannot be justified.[/QUOTE]

FranchiseBlade, I'd suggest you try to really think about the post I had earlier that describes some of the common sources of bias. It appears you've fallen victim to them. Read the post, then collect yourself, and only then keep posting in this thread.

So it's he said / She said? Did the other first hand witnesses see the whole episode? I wasn't aware of those.

That's not accurate, based on what I've read. I read that a girl was on the phone with Martin but then the phone went dead -- that doesn't help us, as Martin could have been the aggressor that caused the phone to go dead.

We don't have enough facts to say that Martin was innocent. He could have been the aggressor, attacking Zimmerman.

    We just need more facts.

You wrote that Zimmerman received no medical attention. You were wrong. You did not say that he had to go to the ER until now. You're shifting the goalposts.

There's not enough facts to prove that Zimmerman wasn't justified in his claim of self defense.

It's not that I don't "get it", it's that many here are fully satisfied with an incomplete set of facts. I am not.

Ok, it's just I don't consider first aid by a paramedic to be medical attention. I consider medical attention to be given by a medical doctor. Zimmerman's "injuries" didn't require that at all.

If this is the point you want to quibble over, then fine. I'll accept your definition of "medical" attention. It doesn't change anything about the incident or even the severity or lack thereof pertaining to Zimmerman's "injuries".

No, she stated that she heard Zimmerman come up and ask Martin what he was doing there. She heard Martin's response, and then she heard the sound of a blow or shove which knocked Martin's headset off, then she wasn't able to communicate with Martin anymore.

Yes we do. We have the testimony of the person on the phone with Martin at the time of the incident, and it shows that Martin was indeed innocent.

Based on this alone, you cannot confirm that Zimmerman was the one who delivered the blow to know the headset off. It could have been Martin who delivered the jostle to knock the headset off.

I have yet to hear anybody offer an alternative explanation to the basic facts of this story.

Why is it self defense if Zimmerman initiated the confrontation with Martin?

I have asked the question 800 times and never received a single response. Please, learn me.

That's not what you stated. The facts did not support your assertion, so you are now playing semantic games.

And, of course it is relevant. To say otherwise is simply crazy.

    so much hypocrisy.

Zimmerman's arrest is not relevant yet Martin's school discipline file somehow is?

I am curious to know whether Matin's drug test was clean to shut up some of these hypocrites that I am observing.

what about Zimmerman's blood alcohol level? oh that's right the cops failed to take this information. but let's blame the victim and remind others that he had a nickname of "Slim"

    so much injustice.

I was not aware that "who started it" was in dispute.

It's already a fact that Martin didn't start the altercation. We have Zimmerman in his own voice (that nobody has disputed) indicating that he is gonig to pursue Martin.
