Clyde went from bad, to enjoyable through irony, to now back to the worst thing to ever happen to Houston Rockets basketball.

It's easy enough to pause the TV for a second or two to sync them up just right.

And yeah, Scola being as good as the rest made me chuckle. Like Clyde always seems to be doing for no good reason. Chuckle. Chuckle. Heh heh heh. Chuckle. Heh heh heh. I keep thinking he'll start eating chips on air or just lighting up a J.

Clyde: Don't have a cow, Bill.

can't remember the context of that, but that's a type of line where Bill might snap. Or it will be some random nonsensical or painfully obvious line...where we are left saying, "oh sh!it, did Bill finally do it?"

    something like:

Clyde: Sometimes to win you have to shoot the ball, like fly fishing.

The problem is the large amounts of mar1juana that Clyde smokes before the game.

Excuse me sir but people pay for nba league pass now so they are suppose to be unbiased. I prefer for them to be sincere. Therefore I enjoy Clyde more than bill.

I've noticed that, too. Giving Clyde a good ribbing about his poor work ethic. But it seems criticism thats a little "pointed".

Bill did that the game before the All Star break, during the postgame to Clyde on the sideline. Said something like how its time to catch the All Star festivities, but you [Clyde] probably won't be catching any of it! Insinuating he's just gonna go kick back and relax and come back not knowing what the hell's going on as usual.

I'm sure they have good mutual respect for each other as PEOPLE and just enogh professional respect. They're both Houston Rockets and UH Cougar institutions.

Just Bill probably doesnt like his PERFORMANCE. When you have a production going, just how much can you take a performer "stumbling his lines" and not doing his homework time and time again no matter HOW much you like them as people.

Bring back Calvin Murphy. We should start a petition.

The reason Clyde is unbiased is cuz he doesnt know ANYTHING about ANYONE equally.

Bill Worrell is biased, sure. One thing I don't like about Bill, for 20+ straight years, is the "patented" free throw jinx. WHO CARES. Worrell has those corny canned themes he sticks with.

Though you can say a play-by-play man's job is to call the movement of the game. And the COLOR guy is supposed to be the EDUCATIONAL guy pointing out the STRATEGY and nuances of the game that fans normally wouldnt see.

I remember Steve Francis last year went into the booth tired sounding maybe hung over. And Francis who is NOT known for his IQ was describing sets on the court and talking about plays we might see out of a time out.

Does DREXLER do that? Does he translate ANY of his playing day's knowledge into the booth?

Clyde should have returned to play instead of commentating.

I doubt everyone feels the same about him the way you might, I wouldn't go as far as saying he is even close to being the least liked and respected commentator in the league. (there a quite a few far worse)

outside of Houston he isn't even that well known...

I'm from Lubbock and I watched the game on Fox Sports Dallas and Derek Harper is a damn good commentator. Sure he covers the Mavs but he was very complementary of our players when they made good plays. That's how it should be.

Sean Elliott and Clyde are both horrible homers. I like them both but they suck at covering games.

Of course he does. According to Clyde, every team runs nothing but "pin downs" all game, unless it's the end of the quarter, in which the team will run a "1-4 flat." Listening to him, I now know that these are the only two plays that exist in basketball.

I think Drexler wants to be Batman.
Bill is fine with that, but he can't take a backseat to someone who is wrong so many times.

Here is a common series of events:
    1. Clyde utters an atrocious comment.
    2. Bill changes the subject
    3. Clyde repeats the atrocious comment anyway

    Bill's trying. Clyde's failing.
