1. The pleas for help were Zimmerman's according to this witness 2. It appears there are those who believe Zimmerman is not a racist.
And two other witnesses (interview tonight on Dateline), plus Tray's girlfriend contradicts that one witness thinking it was Zimmerman screaming.
Takes what fits his case, labels them as facts. You are getting worse and worse at playing your character homie.
Franchise, it is irrelevant if Martin was on top or bottom. If you pick a fight with somebody and get beat up, that isn't grounds for self defense.
FranchiseBlade's post exhibits textbook flaws in logic. I've read many psychology texts over the years, and FranchiseBlade makes the most basic of logic and bias errors. Allow me to provide you a glimpse into the human brain, and some of the reasons people to jump to conclusions based on too few data points: 1. Sequencing. The sequence of how we observe characteristics of a person, or facts of a case, is often determined by chance. However, sequence matters, because the halo effect increases the weight of first impressions, many times to the point that subsequent information is mostly wasted. 2. Consistency over completeness. It's the consistency of the information that matters for a good story in the brain, not its completeness. The human brain in many cases finds that "knowing little" makes it easier to fit everything you know into a coherent, but many times, wrong, pattern. FranchiseBlade is not the only person who has fallen victim to these most basic of logic errors. The entire thread is littered with intellectual laziness, and characteristics of these types of bias.
Cokie Roberts just lied on This Week with George S. Zimmerman did not make 46 911 calls in two years. It was actually 18. The 46 calls were spread out over 7.5 years beginning in August 2004. This is all in the official 911 call list pdf file from the Sanford PD.
immaterial. Zimmerman initiated the confrontation. Immaterial. Race is not a relevant legal factor to the case that will be tried in the state of Florida. The only possible racial component is that of the police's response. ...and I doubt there is a legal basis to support that. My personal opinion is that race contributed to various factors in this case but I doubt that is legally relevant and/or provable variable in the legal proceedings.
First hand witness testimony disputes this. You do not have facts that prove Zimmerman was the attacker. Irrelevant. Everytime I see the irrelevant fact that Trayvon was carrying Skittles, I know that the writer is trying to play to the readers' sympathies and suggest that Trayvon was a innocent, helpless child. Based on the information that's been provided, this logic leap cannot be justified.
I think I touched a nerve with you, by providing you this insight into the human brain. Are you among the intellectual lazy who could fall for these types of logic errors? Consider yourself fortunate that I have made you aware of these errors, so that you do not make them in the future.
...and you, being a human also subject to the same consequences, have displayed your full array of biases. Including: 1. Referring to the victim as "the black" 2. Becoming outraged when someone would suggest they visit your house to initiate a confrontation and claim self defense, call that "shameless" and dismiss the underlying point as if it has no relevant point. 3. Weighting witness testimony as more/less credible based on the support of your pre-existing viewpoints. I could go on. Careful little kettle.
point 1 wasn't done with the motives you might be suggesting, as evidenced by me changing to use the phrase "African Americans" point 2 was a silly gotcha game you tried to play, that I rebuffed point 3 is not true. I haven't weighted any witness testimony more or less than others. you have no true points in this post. Sorry.
Per Officer Timothy Smith's report: Zimmerman was placed in the rear of my police vehicle and was given first aid by the SFD. While the SFD was attending to Zimmerman, I overheard him state "I was yelling for someone to help me, but no one would help me." At no point did I question Zimmerman about the incident that had taken place. Once Zimmerman was cleared by the SFD, he was transported to the Sanford Police Department
Per your own description ...it's basic human nature to introduce bias. Your attempt to be PC after the fact is irrelevant. The whole point you were trying to make is that humans naturally introduce bias ...as you clearly demonstrated by your dehumanized language. It wasn't a gotcha "game" ...you just walked into it. You have yet to describe why it is "silly". Why is it okay for Zimmerman to intentionally pursue somebody, kill them and claim self defense. But when I suggest I'd do the same to you, you call it "shameful". It's a simple question you have yet to answer. What differentiates to two scenario? Yes you have. The alternate "testimoney" you referenced is not on record as official testimony ...yet you stated "the facts keep streaming in". We have some official testimony and some unncorrabulated testimony and you, at a minimum, are treating both as equal. By your own description, lets review the true facts here and treating testimony from unofficial sources as fact is flawed.
If this version is to be believed, then I can infer the following happened. 1. Zimmerman saw a person in a hoodie with skittles, ice tea, talking on the phone and think he's suspicious and possibly violent. 2. Zimmernan calls 911. 991 Operator tell him to stay back and let the police handle it. 3. Zimmerman feels that the suspicious person with skittles and ice tea may be violent, so he carries his gun and stays vigilant. 4. Zimmerman, armed with his gun, confronts the kid with skittles and ice tea, knowing that the kid may be a violent person. But instead of keeping his distance, he gets really close to the kid, to the point where a gun would be less useful while he risks getting attacked by a knife or other close range weapon. 5. Zimmerman than gets his freaking ass kicked by a kid holding skittles, ice tea, talking on the cellphone to the point where he screams out in pain, fears desperately for his life, thinking he has no choice but to use his gun, and somehow while in great pain shot the kid dead. For a neighborhood watchman, someone who wants to be a cop, he seems quite inept.
Sorry, but that's all wrong. All of it. You're trying to make this about me, instead of the case and the supporting logic. use a spell check next time, also
