1. CNN has determined that they could not tell whether or not Zimmerman said f'ing coon. Even had he done so, it is not illegal to use that phrase. 2. Chasing is not the same thing as following. We still do not know the manner in which Zimmerman followed Martin. This is a key part of the story that has not been unraveled since it goes to the state of mind of Zimmerman and may give us some indication of Martin's state of mind. 3. Zimmerman mentioned in the 911 tapes that Martin had something in his waistband. In retrospect that was probably just an item purchased from the store. But if Zimmerman thought that was a weapon, the fact that he out weighed Martin becomes all but irrelevant. The key question becomes the reasonableness of Zimmerman's conclusion about what might be in Martin's waistband. 4. Both Zimmerman and Martin had a right to be in a public space. Zimmerman was not trespassing, nor had he been ordered by a law enforcement officer to leave the area.
There may be some stupidity on the link and posting the address is stupid but where is the racism? I see a comment calling him fat and white and threats to his safety and life but nothing derogatory toward him on the account of his race. Can you even prove that these are African-Americans or are you assuming? Don't we need the facts?
If Zimmerman was that fearful that Martin was hiding something in his waistband, he should have waited for authorities to reach the scene rather than pursuing. Size advantage, weapon advantage, element of surprise advantage... sounds like he's a coward if he was truly fearful.
The race baiters (our idiotic, shallow thinking president Obama included) look stupider after this witness shares his side http://www.myfoxtampabay.com/dpp/news/state/witness-martin-attacked-zimmerman-03232012 Witness: Martin attacked Zimmerman Updated: Friday, 23 Mar 2012, 6:19 PM EDT Published : Friday, 23 Mar 2012, 5:47 PM EDT ORLANDO - A witness we haven't heard from before paints a much different picture than we've seen so far of what happened the night 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was shot and killed. The night of that shooting, police say there was a witness who saw it all. Our sister station, FOX 35 in Orlando, has spoken to that witness. What Sanford Police investigators have in the folder, they put together on the killing of Trayvon Martin few know about. The file now sits in the hands of the state attorney. Now that file is just weeks away from being opened to a grand jury. It shows more now about why police believed that night that George Zimmerman shouldn't have gone to jail. Zimmerman called 911 and told dispatchers he was following a teen. The dispatcher told Zimmerman not to. And from that moment to the shooting, details are few. But one man's testimony could be key for the police. "The guy on the bottom who had a red sweater on was yelling to me: 'help, help…and I told him to stop and I was calling 911," he said. Trayvon Martin was in a hoodie; Zimmerman was in red. The witness only wanted to be identified as "John," and didn't not want to be shown on camera. His statements to police were instrumental, because police backed up Zimmerman's claims, saying those screams on the 911 call are those of Zimmerman. "When I got upstairs and looked down, the guy who was on top beating up the other guy, was the one laying in the grass, and I believe he was dead at that point," John said. Zimmerman says the shooting was self defense. According to information released on the Sanford city website, Zimmerman said he was going back to his SUV when he was attacked by the teen. Sanford police say Zimmerman was bloody in his face and head, and the back of his shirt was wet and had grass stains, indicating a struggle took place before the shooting.
Spends an endless amount of posts defending the death of a youth by saying "we shouldn't rush to judgement". Rushes to judgement on a bunch of Twitter posts.
disregards every details and fact posted by every major news source. needs more facts. gobbles up an uncorroborated foxnews story with an unidentified witness as truth.
This may not be true, and even if true may be irrelevant, but it's worth investigating further. It has been reported that Trayvon Martin was on a ten-day suspension from school, but those records have been kept from the public. I have not checked Mr. Martin's high school, but as a guide, some other Miami high school imposes ten day suspensions for fighting, but also as a culmination of repeated violations of the dress code or smoking bans. The police know, but we don't, and the Martin family attorneys are keeping a lid on this. Link
This isn't complicated. Martin's lack of criminal history, him being unarmed, and the physical differences between both parties makes it much less likely he was being an aggressor. All we can do is speculate at this stage, but clearly all these facts are relevant. Why should I assume this kid somehow deserved to be shot to death given what is known? It makes more sense to assume he was innocent. As for whether the shooter is "guilty", it looks to me like he is, but the court should decide once the facts are gathered.
two points that appear to contradict Zimmerman being the aggressor: 1) The witness who saw Martin attack Zimmerman 2) Zimmerman's bloody nose.
OK. Let's suppose Martin initiated the confrontation and attacked Zimmerman. Then what? Martin attacked him and fled. Zimmerman called police, the police told him not to pursue. But he did so anyway and shot Martin. Is that, in your opinion, more likely what happened? Under the law, I assume you can't chase after an unarmed person, shoot them, and claim self-defense.
This story about the "latest" witness was originally dated February 27 with an update on March 23. If the the news media knew about this but ignored it or chose to minimize it, that's pretty strong evidence of media bias.
A less common but more hilarious one was when bigtexxx's twin brother argued he couldn't be a racist because he spoke Spanish.
decries all facts that don't support own side in case as questionable. takes one person's account that does support own side as sacred. the usual characters are embarrassments to themselves in this thread. what a sad, sad little band of trolls you are. let the boy rest, and respect his memory you selfish, blind, racist little children.
