Do they have a minimum usage requirement? I just saw that Champion has one. I hate those.

I with First Choice Power. Couldn't be happier.

Got a letter in the mail the other day. THought it was another bill. Instead, it was them saying they are giving me $100 this year. $25 in credit every quarter "for being such a good customer".

The new bane of Texas deregulated electricity. Many companies are doing this now, and I think it's bad business. Apartment-dwellers, read your TOS carefully.

depends on the plan i think.

my parents have been with them over a year now..they were paying 8.6 and the minimum was 500kwatts or theres a 5 dollar fee or something.

now they raised it up to 800kw.

i would call and double check. no billing or customer service issues.

Just be lucky you don't live in Atlanta and have to suffer through the scourge that is Georgia Power. Yuck.

I just re-upped with Gexa @ 8.5 for 12 months. I was paying 9.3. This price was not listed on the Choose to Use website, but they gave me the friends and family package. Glad I called, really didn't wanna switch as I like Gexa.

Did the same thing here, only I took the 9.3 on 12 months with all wind energy. Friends and family coupon code ftw.

    Reach Energy

So I'm on powertochoose.com, and saw Reach Energy has the lowest fixed rate of 5.9 cents. I have Reliant now. Are there any difference in term of the energy provided by these companies? Why wouldn't anyone simply choose the lowest? Please help.

    Thanks.

How long does that rate last for, 3 months? If so, you'll be choosing a new provider in the middle of the summer when rates are at their highest peak.

It's a 3 month contract, your rate becomes variable after that, and will likely skyrocket.

I'd rather take a 12-24 month contract and get in at the 8-9 cent per kwh rate myself.

Beyond that, I don't do business with companies that I can't get some kind of personal recommendation on, this thread is a good compendium of info on that.

Uprising, how are you such a "good customer"? What, did you help them build a gazebo, or something?
    That's what SHE asked.

Yes! This is ridiculous. The only one I've seen so far from the recommendations in these recent posts is Amigo Energy. I've seen some bad things about them, but those reviews are from people complaining about how quickly they cut off their power when they didn't pay their bill.

I haven't paid a bill late to this day (when it comes to energy bill at least ha).

Classic, if you want me to use you as a referral if I sign with Amigo, I'll be happy to. It's up to you, just let me know.

I think I mentioned earlier in this thread about Startex Power. A great company to work with and great rates. I just renewed for 8.6c/kwh for 1 yr (100% renewable)

I put it in quotes because I have no idea. I'm guessing they are doing it for customers who pay on time.

Best time to that is in summer. Introductory rates, mine was around 4.3. Took advantage of it in July and august.

I've been with Reliant at 8.4 for 6 months and just reupped at the same price for the next 6 months. That has me renegotiating my rate in October.

    Good?
