Battier is too popular not to make it...im not sure if hayes can beat scola, but he should. Francis tmac battier chuck yao
What no love for BOKI! I would put Scola over Hayes at PF. Scola was more of a consistent producer for this team and Hayes was far more of an offensize liability than Scola was on D, especially early in Hayes' career. Don't get me wrong as I love Hayes as a Rocket but Scola is a borderline star. Scola has carried the Rockets at time while the same can't be said for Hayes.
While you're probably right that Hayes's offense was worse than Scola's defense, I would also argue that Hayes's defense was better than Scola's offense back when he was playing at his natural position. Ultimately I settled on Scola, because of his consistency and him playing more games as a full-fledged starter. But Hayes was definitely my favorite player of the decade.
When I think 2000s, these are the guys whom I remember most. Yao Ming Chuck Hayes Luis Scola Tracy McGrady Shane Battier 6: Carl Landry Francis never took us anywhere. We were irrelevant with him and it is a period of Rockets history I would like to forget. All flash but off the charts stupidity. The constant turnovers were giving me migraines.
Francis is in because its a popularity contest, he may have not taken us anywhere, but he was the reason most people watched the Rockets in the early 2000s
Steve and cuttino carried those early 00's teams. Steve and Cuttino won 45 with not much talent around them, and the west was pretty tough back then. You had the lakers, kings, Blazers, Spurs all as super duper teams. Shane Battier is a glorified role player
I know we all like to root for the underdog and I was at the game when he got that triple double and I was yelling with everyone else for him to score to get it. However he is over rated. Look at what he is doing with the kings this year. We had no option and we played him a lot and it got him a fat contract.
