Will the Rockets do a 00s all-decade team this year? Too soon?

    Here is my team:

    PG - Steve Francis
    SG - Tracy McGrady
    SF - Shane Battier
    PF - Luis Scola
    C - Yao Ming

Tough choice between Mobley and Battier. I can go either way on that. Battier was an important contributor on far better teams than what Mobley played on. I don't have very fond memories of the Francis/Mobley era, so it was tough for me to include both of them.

    Sounds about right.

It comes down to Shane or Cuttino.

I'd put in Barkley over Scola. He retired in 2000 with the Rox, so it should count for 00's.
Hell, you could put in Hakeem over Yao since he also retired in the 2000's. ;)

cuttino over battier easily, but...ron artest makes a case for being the best player on the only team to win a playoff series.

Yeah but he retired as a Raptor... My 00's team would be Artest, Yao, Brooks, Scola, and Battier. Besides being the only Rockets team in 00's to get to the 2nd round, they had one of the best over all teams that year. You had Lowry, Landry, Chuck Hayes, Mutombo coming off the bench. Just a bunch of Rocket favorites.

I will take Chuck Hayes over Luis Scola because of Scola's huge liability on the defensive end.

Scola will give you points but he will give up even more points on the other end.

Chuck will not score much but he will shut his man down and provide team defense.

IMO, besides Artest and Mutombo, Hayes has been the best defensive player on the Rockets in the past decade or so.

    Battier
    Hayes
    Yao

Battier over Mobley bc he instilled that team first, and defensive mentality. Same reason for the Chuckwagon over scola. Hayes has a chance to go down as the best ever post defender under 6'8".

Artest?? The guy was only in Houston for 1 season...

I agree with most of you saying
    Francis
    Mobley
    Tmac
    Scola
    Yao

shane battier was a very important player on the Rockets team...he stabilized our defense, and he could do a bit on offense, but the best part about him was in intelligence of the game and his leadership

Position doesn't matter, as was clear by choosing , Drexler, Elie & Horry (SG / SF) so I will be mad again if they snub the biggest reason for the 22 game winning streak and staying alive all those years with Yao out: Mutombo!

I cannot believe some of you already do not have him in your list but there's no doubt that Yao, Mutombo & Francis should be locks! The others are all debatable but I have to go with: Mobley & Battier.

As much as I liked Artest when he was here, Hayes as a defender, Tracy at times for what he did, Rafer, Brooks and Landry, we wouldn't have survived without Battier's leadership and defense.

Mobley over Tracy is a lock because he played with more heart, was a 2nd round pick and the way T-mac left and gave up on us making sure we wouldn't trade him iss unforgivable.
