29 Minutes, 7-8 Shooting, 3-4 Three, 17Pts, 9Ast, 5Rbs Box Score I think he'll take over the starting spot from Blake next game. He's got wide open looks the whole game and really controls the offense really well. He's been on losing teams his whole career (Bucks, Timberwolves, Cavs), so it'll be interesting to see him operate in a winning system. PG: Ramon Sessions SG: Kobe Bryant SF: Ron Artest PF: Pau Gasol C: Andrew Bynum Bench: Blake, Murphy, Barnes, McRoberts, Hill, Ebanks, Morris
was just listening to the post game recap where they said they think the 2nd unit is running much smoother with Sessions at the helm. there are going to be people screaming for him to start if he doesn't get the nod soon.
Agree, he's going to be big for them. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Kobe Bryant postgame on what addition of Ramon Sessions' playmaking means for the Lakers: "I can be a legitimate 2-guard now."</p>— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) <a href="https://twitter.com/ESPNSteinLine/status/182691187537346560" data-datetime="2012-03-22T04:52:28+00:00">March 22, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
He tries to sound all sad to the media about Fisher, but backhanded comments like this clearly show he's happy with Fisher gone. Kobe is all about business. Odom, Pau, Fisher, he'd trade them all for that 6th ring.
Sessions as a Laker reminds me of Mo Williams playing for the Cavs back when Lebron was around. He will help them for sure. Sessions has a player option for next season at $4.5 million, which he will most likely decline, especially if he performs well for the remainder of the season. So, what do the Lakers spend to bring him back? What will another team bid on him for free agency? Of course, the Lakers are in the position where they just have to go for it right now and worry about the future later.
There will be a ton of PGs available this summer including Dragic. I'm sure Sessions would want to stay in LA, he's been losing his whole career. It's nice to be on a winning team. He's only 25, I think 5 years, 30M is fair.
Kobe doesnt miss Fisher, when Fisher was there.. Kobe could HOG the ball Now Kobe has a PG thats legit, and Kobe will be forced to differ.. or they will lose games like againist us last night Kobe would rather shotjack and win, rather than win the right way. This is why i said the CP3 trade would have been terrible for the Lakers. Kobe would not make it work
Good thing Kobe decided to take hte ball out of Sessions' hands last night in the 4th when he entered the game. He was killing us.
Such a sweet trade. They got a PG worthy to start on a playoff team and they dumped Walton and Kapono who they have no use for and shed massive salary. If they can pull of a similar trade for Artest and Blake - Lakers will be too good.
Unlike Wade and LeBron, Kobe can play off ball. He didn't dribble much in this game, mostly making quick shots on turn around and one step jumper once he received the ball. Having Sessions allows him to start the offense on weak side and get loose in Hamilton/RA style.
Sessions might just save the Lakers' season. I think now they have a good chance of going to the Finals.
He's damn good, that may be the best move at the deadline. Sessions is a big pure point guard. He'll command respect from his teammates by spoon feeding Kobe & Co is spots where they can score easily. I despise the Lakers but they could be scary with Sessions and any production from the bench.
I hope not. Sessions is also playing a little bit over his head shooting wise right now, no doubt his playmaking will definitely help the Lakers though.
