Did you even read what he wrote? We got Thabeet for their 1st round pick. Name me a single prospect last season you can get for Shane Battier, and get the other team to give you a 1st round pick as well. Flynn was a part of the trade to get Donatas Motiejunas, without Donatas Motiejunas there would be no deal for Flynn. BTW Minnesota lied about Flynn's health. The T-Will move was defiantly a mistake.
Forget it then.... I was saying it was a bad throw in.... could have throw in a Dleaguer or a cheap contract.
Expirings are valuable assets. And to add more to that, what team is dumb enough to give you a first round pick at the cost of taking on a cheap contract? It doesn't exist.
Your not getting it. I don't care where Thabeet or Flynn were drafted. They weren't traded for. They were throw-ins. It is meaningless to me whether they panned out or not. We already have the best 1-2 at point guard in the entire league. You honestly think Morey cared if Flynn panned out? Terrence had a very good stretch as a rookie. He was almost averaging a triple double for a month. Nothing to do with draft position. It has to do with his performance in the NBA. It was a very good, calculated risk. Not everything pans out. What you are expecting is outside the realm of rational thought. Motiejunas. There is your prospect we traded for. You say we should have traded for a better prospect other than Flynn and Thabeet without realizing that in fact, we traded for a very, very good prospect in the same deal that brought us Flynn. We couldn't have made that deal without the deal we made, which subsequently brought in Thabeet. I'm sorry but your logic is astoundingly bad. By the way, Morey tried numerous times to trade for Pekovic before he blew up. One time we got very close. Motiejunas could be even better.
You know well enough that Morey liked Thabeet's defensive potential... Who didn't ... but what they failed is to scout that he had absolutely no motor and no motivation to be the best whatsoever.
I can't tell if you are trolling me. Thabeet is a throw in, it doesn't matter whether he has potential or not. The fact that he does is a bonus. I mean we were trading Shane Battier, who we had no reason to resign and he had no reason to stay. Jesus Christ that concept is not that hard to grasp. Taking on contracts for a pick is not news.
Morey is not bad GM but he makes mostly lateral moves or "money ball" trades. That being said, here are some bad moves I didn't like. 1. Trading draft rights of Rudy Gay for Battier 2. Drafting Aaron Brooks over Aaron Afflalo or Marc Gasol 3. Taking Joey Dorsey over DeAndre Jordan or Omer Asik 4. Trading a first round pick for Terrence Williams 5. Cutting Jeremy Lin and keeping Jeff Adrien and Jonny Flynn instead
No. Trolling is different. I don't negate what you are saying. You are just being aggressive and rude which is fine with me. I don't care.
Zomg!!! Morlay traded hill for Fischer and he didn't even play game for us. What a terrible move! Everyone thought he could bring that vet leadership to the team. Looool
Because it's such a simple concept that you are deliberately not understanding to prove a point. I apologize if I offended.
The essential thing is Morey can make mistakes as well... I can understand why he made the moves he made.... but like with Terrence Williams.... and the throw ins... he had to make extra moves to get rid of them.
I am getting it... Just made a point that clinging on to Thabeet, even if he helped to get a 38 yr old Camby is still horrible waste of a roster spot.
Actually I'm pretty content trading Battier for Motiejunas. That's ultimately what your complaining about. Would much rather have Parsons at the three spot anyway... By the way, how do you think Phoenix fans feel about trading Dragic and a first round pick for Brooks?
call me when the grizzlies get the #1 pick in an important draft like the rockets have. the yao lottery win was reduckulous. It was as bad as chicago getting Rose and cleveland getting lebron.
We didn't cling on to him. I'll explain it one last time. He was a throw in, if you get this concept then why would you complain about wasting a roster spot? It would be like if advocates of tanking complained about having to lose games to get a lottery pick.
Or we could have just cut him and not had Camby. Taking on an expiring deal for Motiejunas is a bad move? lmao.
