Would anyone here still honestly pick dream over Jordan if you could go back in time and do that pick over?
A million times yes. Dream went to the finals in his second year in the league and dominated the team of the decade.
I'm guessing that some of the people who wonder this question aren't Houstonians at the time. Or they don't get why this is called "Clutchfans"
The last person I heard questioning the pick of Dream over Jordan was Rich Lord (and there was an earlier time where he actually thought Jordan was picked first). Nuff said.
Under the NBA rules in 1984, I would pick Akeem over Jordan without a doubt. Under the rules today, I would pick Jordan.
Houston Rocket fans, the real ones, love Hakeem Olajuwon and loved his tenure with the Rockets. All you arm chair quarterbacks can be happy with your MJ fantasy and nike endorsements. The Clutch fans like .. CLUTCH.. are doing alright with the Rocket's choice. Read my signature you fake ass Rockets fans.
who got to the finals first? who won a championship without a star in the team? (94) who won the MVP, DPOY, MVP Finals in one year? Jordan would be the choice, because he is the more popular player, because the media sold his image a lot more.
wes, some of us remember how important Dream was to the city and what the Rockets did for it. then there are people who don't get it. they certainly didn't understand 86.
I ain't gonna lie, I'd take Jordan. Hakeem's great, top 10 all-time. But Jordan's the best to ever play the game. I have no complaints, but you can't help but wonder how many more titles we may have won if Jordan had been a Rocket.
If they have exactly the same teams, only switching Jordan for Hakeem, I dont know how many titles the rockets would have won.
What is the point of asking such a loaded question? The fans who respond with Hakeem are labelled as being biased, and those who pick Jordan are labelled as being unfaithful. The question accomplishes nothing but dissent and argument. That said, history cannot be changed, so these revisionist hypotheticals are nothing more than fantastical wastes of time. Hakeem Olajuwon is the Houston Rockets. He is a cornerstone of our history, and the best player to ever don a Rockets jersey. If you have to disrespect that by trying to goad Rockets fans into saying that they would have "rather had Jordan", then just leave the damn forum.
Pop Quiz. Which team won 55 games the year after he retired the first time? Jordan's teamed were stacked and when they lost, they added a hall of famer to the squad. Add Dream to any 55 win team and see what happens.
Dude, some of us are old enough to remember Rockets vs Bulls. We witnessed it and we are sick of people who never witnessed this or trolls from california telling us what we saw. we know. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/iKuCjlcYcVE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Iu92R-UR12o" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
