    I think in the case of humans, you probably also need to be capable enough to raise your kids into adulthood. Something this woman was obviously capable of doing.

    Darwin never said you need to be sane for your entire life. :)

    The funniest thing about this post... I would expect this sorta thing to be an actual Fox News segment. Or CNN or MSNBC really. That's how they phrase these things. Incitement for idiots.

    I don't blame Fox for all of it, but they sure spread dangerous, ignorant, inaccurate and racially-insensitive ideas. I don't consider it news.

    Hmm good point. Wiki says:
    Northcutt has stated five requirements for a Darwin Award:
    1. Inability to reproduce - Nominee must be dead or rendered sterile.
    2. Excellence - Astoundingly stupid judgment.
    3. Self-selection - Cause of one's own demise.
    4. Maturity - Capable of sound judgment.
    5. Veracity - The event must be verified.​
    Since the fatal act must prevent the candidate from further reproduction, however many offspring Granny previously had is a moot point apparently. So Darwin Award still applies!

    Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger...
