Kid A is the implementation of post-modern minimalism in musical form.

It was too revolutionary for any head-bangers to comprehend.

If I may ask, where did you see Reptar? And how did you hear of them? I've been going to Reptar shows around Atlanta and Athens for the last couple years, and thought they were really only a local product. Now I see them being discussed here!

The King of Limbs maybe, but I don't see how you could think Amnesiac, HTTT, or In Rainbows are "weirder" than Kid A. Unless I'm wrong on what you mean by weirder.

They toured nationally with Foster the People. Caught them at House of Blues last year since them I've seen them at Stubbs and a few bars on 6.

    This.

One of the greatest albums of all time for the genre IMO. In any case, I fail to see how an album like "In Rainbows" could be considered "weird." Come to think of it, most of my favorite Radiohead have been their later albums. King of Limbs is fantastic. Very well done. Say what you will about those later albums, just keep in mind that those are the same albums that are revered most by the musical community as a whole. (very different aesthetic from that of the public.)

I think I'm the only one who likes Amnesiac better than Kid A, and better than any other Radiohead album for that matter.

Amnesiac is brilliant, even if it is just "Kid B".

"Pyramid Song" and "I Might Be Wrong" are two of my favorite RH songs.

Hard for me to rank it over Kid A though, "Motion Picture Soundtrack" and "How to Disappear Completely" have to be two of the most haunting songs I've ever experienced.

    Nirvana was a punk revival

    See circa: 1969

And we are in the midst of a pretty good blues rock revival:

the black keys are re-packaging the dirty blues sound. R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough and more recently North Mississippi Allstars.

hooky rhythms and feedback. even the white stripes. the black keys are more pop-laden i suppose.

They're trying, but they aren't coming anywhere close.

Curious how a Blues Man such as yourself feels about the Black Keys success? I'm not really a big fan of theirs, and I guess you really aren't either based on your post. The only track of theirs I've really liked actually is one of their latest, Little Black Submarine.

I think they are better than most new acts out there, but to compare them to RL Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, and the North Mississippi AllStars is a stretch. I think the Black Keys are influenced by the blues, but to call them a blues act is a misnomer.

The Black Keys are major try hards. Only Dudebros in their mid 30s who still listen to the Counting Crows dig that 3 chord, 2 note wah wah bar ****. It's catchy though.

all this, but "it's catchy though." hahaha

I'd phrase it as they're extremely polished. they are after a specific sound and they get there.

Didn't realize great music was something you had to "comprehend".
