"Trading low" on Brooks got us Dragic and gave Lowry a chance to show us his full form... Why the hell would you trade Lowry if he's playing well? How does that make any sense whatsoever? We've already got him on a good contract, he's a proven player in our rotation, he knows the team and our offense slightly better than Dragic. I don't understand you people. Trading Lowry makes NO DAMN SENSE.
Not doubting what u said, but it surpises me. Do you have a link? Recently, kings have been doin ok playin reke at sf
The Rockets can simply get what they need (a star big man) by trading Lowry plus a few other pieces like Martin and Scola because he will appeal to other teams more. Plus, I think the Rockets the way they are playing as of right now are better off with Dragic as the starting pg anyway.
Depends. 1. If Dragic gets an offer he can't refuse from a team like the Pacers or Utah for above the MLE (7-8mil) and we still have Lowry, then keep Lowry. 2. If Dragic can be had at the MLE, sign him and since he can't be traded until March 1 of 2013, keep him and trade Lowry. 3. If Lowry and filler can net you a high draft pick or a guy like LMA, keep dragic. 4. If Lowry and net you a high pick or a guy like LMA, and Dragic is being offer too much money, let both go if getting a competent replace is possible. The duo won't be around much longer though. I'm fine with either one.
Great to keep both but it's really either way...like we keep anyone of them and draft Kendal Marshall..lots of options for DM...
It makes perfect sense because he's the only player we have who might just get us back an all-star in trade, and Dragic as a starting point guard is almost as good as Lowry is (but the league hasn't quite caught onto it yet). It's not about getting rid of Lowry... it's about acquiring a star player.
yes keep both but i'm also thinking if lowry returns do you think he'll be coming off the bench or start
Everything you said about lowry applies to Dragic as well. I'd even argue they know the offense the same, since it's a new system. It's not about having the best point guard, when there isn't much difference between them. Its about having a better team, so you trade the one who's going to give you a better return, which is lowry, because it'll make you a better team. Makes perfect sense. Nothing has to be done this season, so there will be enough time to see if Dragic can keep this up. If he does, then you try to move Lowry. That being said, if Lowry doesn't come back this season and we miss the playoffs, then his value will have dropped and we may have no choice but to keep him and let Dragic walk.
Ah, well I suppose, if we can get a bona fide all-star that will really help us, then I guess you can't say no. I totally disagree with the people who are essentially suggesting we dump him (for nothing but a pick and change or something... unless it was a damn good pick). But it also depends on how much we can re-sign Dragic for. Would be sad to see either one, go, though (moreso Lowry at this point).
Well I would agree, except for one thing (which I started to get at in my last post): We might have to make this decision this summer. I don't think we have until next year because it may be obvious who we're committing to based on how much money we offer Dragic, or if we have to let him walk. If he asks for anymore than Lowry is getting, I don't see how we can reasonably give it to him. Dragic's great play probably means that one of these guys is gone by the start of next season.
I saw it on RealGM during the trade deadline. Here is the link. Apparently Sam Amick from SI stated that the Kings are unlikely to resign Tyreke Evans. I don't take it too seriously but wouldn't surprise me if they didn't resign him.. http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/219654/Kings_Unlikely_Tffer_Extension_To_Evans
I don't really trust RealGM even though they were right about Howard. But if it's true maybe they would trade us their pick for Lowry to play alongside Cousins and show him some leadership.
Lowry will not get a top 5 pick or a superstar by himself. MAYBE he would get a 6-10 draft pick by himself, but not even sure of that.
I think you work to sign dragic to a good contract and give it more time before making that decision. Either way it could be a huge mistake if you trade the wrong guy. Though i believe having Llul really frees you up if you don't make the perfect decision. He's definitely a nice insurance policy.
He's worth a top five. The sweet spot is probably #4 or #5. That seems fair to me. Any higher than that and other teams probably say no unless we sweeten the pot.
