We have an ugly history of racism and discrimination in the south. A higher level of understanding is key to moving on. Yes, minorities are just as racist as white people in America. Being a religious minority, I've gotten a small taste of being discriminating against. Between having swastikas drawn on my locker in school, to being confronted by 2 hispanic men in a parking lot wanting to fight me because "they needed to finish the job Hitler started", I've grown to pity racists and bigots. Newsflash: 1. Black people (Don't use "the black") don't like to hear about black people being treated differently or abused by police powers. They are passionate about it. 2. Hispanics don't like to hear about police being able to pull them over to check for citizen status without probably cause. They are passionate about it. 3. Arabs/Muslims don't like to hear of atrocities and discrimination being committed against other Muslims here in America or in the middle east. They are passionate about it. 4. Jews don't like to hear about crimes against them in America or attacks on Jews in Israel. They are passionate about it.
