A player that has character is not a ring chaser. If Fish really had character, he would have insisted to stay here. He wanted out, and Houston was more than happy to pay him to leave. We also picked up a nice little draft pick too. Fish has no class at all. Best wishes, hope he joins the heat only to watch them lose to some team in the finals.

A ring chaser, LMAO. Doesn't he already have 4 rings? Barkely was a ring chaser when he came to Houston. Did you say the same about him? Gary Payton was a ring chaser when he went to Miami to play with Shaq. Karl Malone was a ring chaser when he went to LA. Derek Fisher is not a ring chaser.

I really don't blame Fisher at all. First, I have hated him ever since he laid out Scola. I didn't want to see him play for us, and I'd be mad if we had his salary on the books for next year. His contract isn't on the books because he opted to take less money to go to a contender. Ring chaser or not, I'm not going to blame someone for taking less money and trying to win another championship. If I only had one year left in my career, I too would probably want to play for a team that had a better chance of winning a championship in the short term. Again, I do not care for Fisher at all, but I find it hard to blame him this time.

I hope we get to play him again and that Scola lays him out.

It's looking more and more like we'll be playing OKC in the first round.

Therefore I hope Fisher signs with OKC and we knock them out in the first round in yet another 8 over 1 upset.

I don't think Houston stays at 8th. I REALLY like the Camby pickup, and I think Rockets move up a slot or two.

should have just stuck it to him and forced him to sit for the rest of the season... Since he's the president of the NBAPA, I would have expected him to set an example for upcoming players.. guess he made his play and I'm going to assume his daughters doctors are moving to OKC also?

^Then he could have stuck it to us and opted into next season. Win-win situation for us and DM gotta first out of it. What's not to love about this deal?

    Class act and professional.

    Ditching Utah +1

Using daughter's illness to be closer to doctors in NY, then signing with LA? -1.

Fisher might have been a figurehead in the union, but what did he do except idly stand by and let Billy Hunter botch negotiations?

Fisher is a sack of garbage. He rolled off of Kobe's crack and ended up as a brown stain on the NBA mattress.

Fisher is not garbage. He has had an excellent NBA career. Hard fouls are part of the NBA life style. But the guy who did Tomjonovich is garbage.

Dude, its a foul if Scola comes and sets a pick with his hands up. So Fisher knew that Luis would be A) running towards him to set a pick, B) have his hands down so he couldn't protect himself. To hit a man in that situation was cowardly and dirty. It was the definition of a dirty play.

Then why does he care so much about going to a contender? Why does he want number 6 so badly? Ring Chaser. Barkley, Payton, and Malone were ring chasers too, but they never played it off like they weren't either. And yes, I did say that about Barkley even when he came here. Heck, I used to love Battier but I still call him a ring chaser too. These characters talk about sticking it out, making it work, but at the end of the day they take the easy way out.

Believe me, I'm glad Fish is not here, but at the same token it speaks to his character that he wanted nothing to do with this team. He thinks he's owed another ring, he thinks he deserves something. That's not classy, that's an overly expressed sense of entitlement...

There was a bit of a flop on that play. Not one Rocket had a problem with it. It's hilarious how it's such a big deal. I was more pissed at Scola's teammates for not defending him than Fisher.
