Pretty darn impressive in my opinion. Huge energy off the bench. Great hustle. Played within the system. For 6 min of playing time, he's great: 1 reb, 2ast, 1stl, 2pts. He's a keeper. AANNDD he's got great hair!
Fortson the first two game played very hyper which resulted in turnovers. Today he played very well and I expect him to get another 10-day contract. Can someone tell me how he did on defense tho? I didn't exactly pay attention to him on that end
OH GOD PLEASE NO. HOW THE HELL DID I MISS THAT THIS GUY IS ON MY FAVORITE NBA TEAM AFTER IMPLODING MY COLLEGE TEAM A FEW YEARS AGO!?!?!!?! Sorry for the caps, but as an Arkansas Razorbacks fan, my heart just dropped to know that he somehow wound up on the Rockets. If you guys thought Stevie and Moochie dribbled too much...
He looks like a solid player. Super athletic... Only problem I can see is his handles. It seems like he loses his dribble too easily... Maybe he is just nervous.
He has done well. During the game, Bill even said that he has only had 1 practice with the team (yesterday) and doesn't know most of the sets. For a point guard in that situation who is also pumped to be living his dream in the NBA, he has done as well as could be expected. He is always going full out and seems to be around the ball when he was in the game trying to make a play. As he gets more comfortable, I think he will start to let the game come to him instead of forcing it like he has a few times. Having time to actually learn the sets will help him too.
Yes 2 10 day contracts and then has to be for the rest of the season. If he plays decently I think we sign him for the rest of the season unless someone better becomes available in the waiver wire.
Carl at first I thought you were completely wrong, but this game proves when he can calm himself he can contribute.. He played pretty good defense too despite his size. Id pick him up cheep for the time being.
Fortson should be content even if he gets waived, 2 10 day contracts are quite a bit of money for a d-leaguer.
It wouldn't be our front office if they didn't try to get as many possible partially guarantees/team options into a contract.
He looked calm out there and did some good things. Hopefully, he continues to come along and he can play backup PG minutes instead of "Don't leave him in long enough to f**k it up" minutes.
he did much better today. he actually contributed in a positive way. he did make one mistake, when he..uh..fell? or slipped. he managed to get the ball to parsons but it was so late in the shot clock the parsons had to shoot and ended up missing. but even in that mistake he had the sense to redeem himself. thats the feeling that i get with him. he will go out and redeem himself for any mistakes he makes, and i think he's shown that a number of times these last few games
