Everyone is entitled to be wrong sometimes (I often am). And this is not your first error either. When gwayneco says "place" he is obviously referring to the D&D. See his quote again: In other words he is quite clearly saying the liberals in the D&D make him hate the Rockets. He doesn't dispute this in his reply to me; why would you?
Obviously neither of us can say who is in error or not since only gwayneco knows what he meant. And I'll say it again, "place" could easily mean CFs. That is how I took it and if I read the statement again, that's how I'll take it again. But after reading it again I can see how you would think otherwise. Why would I? Because I can't believe any true Rocket fan would think less of the Rockets because there are liberals next door (D&D v. GARM). It might tickle you to think that a republican would squash his hobby because his liberal neighbor has the same hobby, but no...I think not. BUT, if this is gwayneco reality, then I humbly bow out of the convo and apologize. Continue the hunt!
I don't hunt, Raccoon. I don't even fish. I'm vegan. Check out a couple gwayneco posts. He's as much a lunatic as am I. The idea that his hobby could be ruined by the liberals next door is an imminently believable one.
I should have elaborated. My declining interest in the Rockets is not just based on what I see here. It was low during the post Olajuwon years and went even lower post Yao. Having said that, whenever I try to re-kindle it I think about what I have seen written here and I can't get it out of my mind. I know I should be able to compartmentalize, but I can't seem to do it. Btw - my primary hobby is table top sports gaming. I reckon that alone is enough to mark me as crazy.
I think they mostly went into full retreat when treeman couldn't find the WMD's in Syria after the Bush fiasco in Iraq.
Just because you don't identify with a party or their leaders doesn't mean you can't be passionate about politics. Don't let your disgust and disappointment with one side turn you off. Leave them behind and be totally independent. It's actually liberating when you aren't emotionally invested in a party.
EXPOSED but plenty fat from the blood for oil 9/11 WMD orchestration.. they already 'won' in that sense.. who cares now? We can all go home it doesn't matter cheney and co already have their cash.
Honestly, intelligent posters like Major who explain things and look at both sides of every issue with a level headed approach have the power to really transform people.
It's understandable. The Olajuwon years brought out a lot of non basketball fans. Just admit that you aren't really all that into basketball and stop blaming the current Rockets or fans. (I'd bet money you don't watch non-rockets NBA games for fun, nor do you play basketball for fun).
I still believe that basso, TJ Hightop etc are actually planted here by the Democrats to make people turn against Republicans. Deep down they are hardcore liberals just playing the devils advocate to the most extreme.
And that my friend is what I meant by "continue the hunt" ... although hunting Republicans with insults won't really make us cry.
I don't support parties, I support candidates. However, every single Republican candidate since the Bush era is just plain horrible. Ron Paul, a lib, is the only one that I genuinely like. If not for Obama running, then I would have supported Paul.
