At this point this is what the Paul campaign is in the race for. They want GOP platform changes, a VP spot, or positions on the cabinet. Could we end up with Rand Paul as Romney's VP?...

I happen to agree with Ron on this. The ability to declare war needs to go back to Congress - as the constitution specifies...

New ad from Revolution Pac (the Super-Pac associated with the Paul campaign):

Wish they had made something like this a lot sooner...

This is the reason I can't vote for Obama again in 2012. I never thought when I voted for Obama in 2008 that his AG would turn around and claim assassination of US citizens without trial was 'due process'...:(

What US citizens have been assassinated? We aren't still talking about Awlaki are we?

The guy was an enemy combatant involved in military action. If there are others, then I would be interested in hearing about them.

I agree that there is never an excuse to kill American citizens without due process.

I think you should go back and look at what Holder was arguing. I'll let Cenk explain it...

Awlaki was an American citizen. So was his nephew who was killed also.

Calling someone an enemy combatant does not take away their citizenship.

correct. That doesn't change the fact that the American citizen in question joined and was active in a group militarily engaged against the U.S. That citizen was killed in a military action.

Ron is such a goldbug it's no longer funny. Saw him on CNBC today talking about rising oil prices - which according to him are entirely to blame on an increase in the US money supply. Gee Ron, thanks for ignoring the increasing BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) demand, flattening of world oil production and declines in GNE (Global Net Exports).

According to Ron all we need to do is stop printing money and institute massive economic deflation, and then hope that this means that one-third of humanity will go back to riding bikes.

    Predictions 10 years later

Exactly 10 years ago (to the day), Ron Paul gave this speech on the floor of the house and made several predictions. Almost all of them have come true...

^ This is actually pretty stupid.

He made a lot of "no-sh-t sherlock!" predictions that pretty much anbyody could make (the mideast will be unstable! the US is going to invade iraq!)...he almost got the overthrow of arab dictators right, but he was wrong in that it wasn't islamic fundamentalists who did it....really wrong.

His calling card issue (inflation, weak dollar) was a huge miss. If anything the economic collapse caused the opposite effect.

Military Shift Campaign Donations From Ron Paul To Obama In March

The Army Times reported in February that anti-war GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul (R-TX) was at that time, “by far,” getting the most in campaign contributions from members of the United States military. According to a review of Federal Election Commission data, Paul received nearly $250,000 in donations from servicemembers, President Obama, $130,000 and GOP presidential frontrunner Mitt Romney just $23,000.

But now that Paul’s campaign is all but over and presumably, Romney will be the Republican nominee, the military’s donation trend is beginning to shift: away from Paul and toward Obama, the Open Secrets blog reports:

n March, it was Obama that scooped up the most support from the armed forces — about twice as much as Paul, in fact. Romney remains an also-ran when it comes to backing from the military.

Overall, Paul retains the lead. Analysis of OpenSecrets.org data shows that so far in this election cycle, members of the military who donated more than $200 have given Paul’s campaign about $333,134, versus $184,505 to Obama and just $45,738 to Romney.

But in March, Obama and Paul switched places. Members of the military sent $36,448 to Obama and just $17,733 to Paul. Even though Romney solidified his position as the presumptive Republican nominee, military donations to his campaign remained anemic — only $8,630.

The MSM reports that Paul's campaign is over and now Obama gets the money. Very convenient.

Um, last time I checked The Army Times is far from being the MSM.

These idiots are on a roll today. We've got conservatives calling Jesus a pot-smokin' commie and and calling The Army Times MSM.

Guys, settle down. I promise you, 2016 will be here before you know it.

Wait a minute, I have some pretty credible Clutchfan sources that can confirm that Ron has won a ton of delegates in this GOP primary and I have only one question: Why isn't he the GOP nominee?
