Casey, You can blame the media uproar on the Sanford Police Department. It took this entire mess just to get them to release the 911 calls. Regardless of what really happened, Martin's parents do at least deserve some answers and due diligence on the matter.
It;s clear at this point that media are nothing more than stenographers for the Martin family attorneys. That's why they used a photo of Martin as an 11 year old while using a photo of Zimmerman as a 20 something.

We saw Zimmerman's picture forever ago. I'm confused why this is suddenly an issue. Maybe because being half-white, half-latino means you have no bias towards blacks?

First of all George Zimmerman (common Latino name of course) being white, hispanic, or both has nothing to do with what he did and how poorly the police have handled this case. I'll do that and you continue with the I'm half a step from bigtexxx's I'll defend whitey from dastardly racism at every turn. If people waited for the likes of either of you to say something about cases like this we'd be waiting a long time no doubt.
I don't give a damn if Zimmerman is purple....a young black man was shot down in cold blood because he look suspicious walking home at night ( to some people a black person walking around is automatically suspicious). It doesn't sound like a whole lot is being done about it.......and that sounds all to familiar.

My father's family history is littered with such stories....and it is not uncommon in the African-American community. But this situation is all to familiar.
Someone needs to take a bat to this chiefs head and knock some sense to him. That might be the stupidest thing someone has said. The chief could have just come out and said well if Trayvon hadn't been black he would be alive right now. If the FBI or justice department doesn't get involved there is something screwed up about this country.
You're telling the wrong person. Bigtexxx was the one who asked for examples of young blacks being killed by police officers. This poster provided them. I do not think it was his intention to flood the thread with stories unrelated to the original post.
