personally i think Shaq and Kobe made each other go on that team, i mean Shaq needed DWade to win in Miami.. Insert his Big Catcus (suns) stint no 2 guard to take over game and cause double teams also space the floor for Shaq to work. Also your point about the draft is w/e because nobody knew Kobe would be this good.. the mere fact people hate Kobe so much tells you how truely great he is

His overratedness all depends on how you rate him to begin with, and as we can see in this thread, he is pretty much rated differently by everyone.

Thats cause the posters in Clutchfans are crazy. You saw what happened when Lin went off.

I think he is overrated in some aspects like clutch shooting and defense but overall i think he is rated fairly. I think most would agree he is the second best SG of all time. I would rank him somewhere in the 7-15 range when all positions are included.

Kobe i have at 17 all-time. I have KG at 18. I have Hakeen at 7 over Shaq and Duncan

Horry is a role player, and people don't compare Horry to Kobe, period.
Russel got his rings in an ancient era, when the competition was at a different level.
Had he collected his 11 rings starting from 80s, he'd be GOAT, hands down.

I hate Kobe as much as anyone but his dedication to being the best is as strong as any player to play the game. I don't think he possesses the mental toughness MJ had but I would be willing to bet he has put in more work on his game than even MJ.

He lives and breathes basketball and as fans we should admire that.

I don't know why people argue if Kobe's most overrated ever for days when LeBron is easily more overrated.

The guy has chosen1 on his back, is being called King and has no ring. Enough said.

He is a poor king.... can't afford a ring of his own.

    I have Lebron James at #19 All-Time, and Kobe at #17 all-time

Lebron based on his season this year, can move ahead of Kobe with 1 ring this year and a finals MVP ( he's obviously gonna win regular season MVP this year)

Lebron James has put up better numbers than 99% of the players that have ever played in the history of the NBA

If you comapre him to Jordan then yes. If you compare him to some of the alltime greats like Bird and Magic? I say why not? He is probably not as good as Hakeem, Jordan, Kareem, Wilt, Russel, and maybe even Magic? He is as good as most second tier alltime greats like Bird, Shaq, Duncan, Pippen.

So it's all about you? Now I get it. You know what, some TMac fans in the other thread are convinced TMac's the GOAT and you can't persuade them otherwise.

agreed, how are you the king of the league without a ring. I fail to understand how Lebron backers say that he is the greatest while overlooking his late game performance. It is not a matter of him just playing t he offense, he literally backs away and shys off when the game is on the line. That mental part of the game is apart of "greatness". Sure you can sy lebron is the best fantasy player in the league or has the highest Per, but great is something more than that. As far as PER, that has Rondo as the 15th best PG in the league...It says Rubio shouldn't be a starter, not even top 30 PG in the league...obviously the measurement doesn't tell teh story

    Most overrated player ever? No.....

Unless you judge him by this year and on, as he declines, all the while forgetting all of his accolades in the past.

Come on guys really? He's one of the greatest to ever play. Lets just leave it at that.

He's very overrated, if people say he is up there with MJ. I have Kobe at #17 on the all-time list

Kobe has never shot over 50% one time in his career

Kobe has had the luxury of being a selfish player his entire career( he has been on stacked teams, so he could get away with it in the past, we all saw what happened in 2006-2007).

And to me the definition of selfish, is if you are NOT making a high % of your shots, and you keep hogging the ball, and alienating your teammates( especially when you have the best frontline in basketball). Thats selfish

Kobe is basically in the Top 10 scoring list by default, he will down as the perimeter version of Elvin Hayes( a player who just took a bunch of shots, wasnt efficent, and is there by accumilation)

Kobe is a great player, but he can never be in the Top 5 EVER.

Lebron James is actually underrated, and is having a better season than Kobe ever had. And i personally consider Kobe's 2002-2003 season his greatest ever

According to the Elias Sports Bureau.. Wilt Chamberlain averaged 50.4 ppg on 39.6 shots attemtps per game in 1962. On Lebron James 2012 season's current pace.. If he took the same shot attempts would average 58.72 ppg

The bolded players have all led their teams to more titles than Bryant, arguably have better numbers that Bryant and only Shaq hasn't won more MVP's than Bryant (both have 1).

that title in miami may have been the last time shaq was at 90% of the mde shaq that ruled the nba, it's a team game, can't really win alone.

The draft comment was a reference to refusing to play for the team that selected you, in order to ave them trade you to your desired location, although to be fair, it should probably be that Eli Manning, Kobe Bryanted the Chargers.
