One or both of Marquettes duo of Jae Crowder and Darius Johnson Odom will be a star(s) in the league. Which one would do you think it will be? I say both. Plus, it looks like they both will be in range of both our picks on draft night.
Marquettes dynamic duo does it again! Crowder: 17pts, 13rbds, 3assts, 2stls, 2blks. DJ Odom: 17pts, 2rbds, 1asst, 1stl How sweet it is!!
I love Crowder. He's two short for PF and not a good enough shot but he has heart and that goes a long way. I even like Royce White more. he is second rd pick that's worth a shot.
I really like Crowder. Class A personality, and well-rounded game. I'll be interested to watch them in tournament action against better opponents.
Crowder is a 6'6" power forward. That's undersized even if he successfully transitions to SF. Johnson Odom is a 6'2" shooting guard. Neither of the are elite athletes; they don't have great hops to make up for their lack of size, nor explosive speed. They are the classic examples of guys who are great players in college but whose game will not translate nearly as well to the NBA. Not saying it's impossible for them to become good NBA players, but teams will rightfully be skeptical about them because of their physical tools. I definitely see them falling somewhere in that back end of the first round/early second round range.
Crowder is a better shooter and defender than many lotto picks. I see him as the Chuck Hayes of PF's.
Here are the stats for the two. Impressive. If there is a negative it would be the level of competition played. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Jae-Crowder-10084/ Better scoring and shooting per. than.. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Evan-Turner-1115/ http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Darius-Johnson-Odom-6314/ If he can do half of what these two... http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Russell-Westbrook-5062/ http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Derrick-Rose-1068/... ..can do, he will be well worth it. Nothing that a little proffesional training can't help. So far in the tournament... Crowder game 1: 25pts, 16rebs, 4assts, 5stls Game 2: 17pts, 13rebs., 3assts., 2stls., 2blks. m**********n beast!!!!! DJ Odom Game 1: 20pts, 5rebs, 4asst. Game 2: 17pts, 2rebs, 1asst, 1stl
Uhmmm people you are watching college basketball. A beast in college basketball is a D Leaguer. Get a grip. Deep draft and you probably are looking at 2 stars, 5 starters and 7 rotational players. What was the deepest draft in history? 3.5 stars, 7 starters and 8 rotational players? No Dream's or MJs that I see.
I think Crowder will be the star out of the two, but they play so well together why not have them both on the team. I also think that Odom should train with professional PG. He already shows PG ability by the way he brings the ball up the court the majority of possesions. He could be a Westbrook type PG.
agreed that crowder is ill-suited to repeat his college success in the NBA because of his height. he really is a 6'6" pf; a "power 3" at best. Love his heart, and i'm sure he will find a way to contribute, but no way will he be a star.
seeing as how neither of them have a first round grade...i'm not gunna say either is star bound just yet
