Nope, he definitely planned on killing Rick. He said he planned to kill him. Remember he had already killed the kid (broke his neck.) He hid his own gun in the leaves and then basically was going to lead Rick around shoot him, say the kid shot him and that he chased the kid and broke his neck.

He was definitely mentally gone. The show has been establishing that ever since the shooting of Otis and left no doubt after the last episode, what with him slapping his head over and over when he was trying to figure out what to do. He had gone delusional in this new world. Broken from reality. His plans weren't fully coherent because he wasn't tethered to reality any more.

The writers don't seem to think the details matter, but they do.

Okay, I'm going to apologize for my harsh tone beforehand, but I hate these kinds of arguments. First of all, it's a fictional T.V. series involving a fantastical plot about zombies, yes. HOWEVER, this is the only extent to which we, the audience, should have to suspend our disbelief. Just because zombies exist does not mean that we should dismiss every unbelievable thing that happens in the show. Remember, the Zombies are an intended creation of the fantasy world, but plot-holes are NOT. Plot-holes are exactly the kind of thing that take you OUT of the fantasy world and dispel your suspended disbelief.

Zombies, for all intents and purposes, exist in this T.V. show realm, but that does not mean that ANY technical filming/plot error can happen and everyone can just be like "Eh, whatever, zombies". That's absolutely asinine, and it's now how fiction works.

Same here. I thought the first season was sorry and didn't even bother watching all episodes. Then right before season 2, discussion about the show exploded here, which made me go back and watch the old episodes (which I had on DVR). I kept watching in season 2.

Initially I thought the show was stupider than stupid and would be canceled, but it's grown on me despite the poor acting and mediocre scripts. The last two episodes have almost made it worthwhile. Hopefully the finale is a grand slam and next season continues the trend. I'm ready for a major change of direction and for the farm to be history. Would mind if they killed off a couple more characters and added new ones.

When the dust settles, I bet 90% of the best parts will be episodes 1, 2, 12, and 13.

Couldn't agree more. Every tv/film/book/game universe has its own set of rules that the story must follow.

    serious question:

for people who read spoilers: why? scared of tension or stressed out by anticipation and excitement or something?

can't fathom why you would want to read what you are about to see before you watch it.

no, wasn't whining or judging. that's why i prefaced it with "serious question", because i knew it would come across that way. genuinely am curious to know the psychology behind why some people want to spoil it for themselves.

I hear yah man.. It's just that I've read every issue of the comics and reading them blew me away... As far as the Tv series it's a fun show but it didn't hit me hard like the comics did so I'm cool with reading the spoilers for the show...

Anything that's zombies will sell..... because zombies are ****ing awesome. So for this show to be successful all it had to be was OK. Personally I think the show is better then OK, I think it's good.

Norman Reedus was made for his role in the show which why I kept watching it in the dark times (looking for sophia for like 5 episodes). I also believe they have a lot of great developing stories on the side (when's Merle coming back, will rick ever see Morgan or Duane Jones again).

My prediction is the new show runner has been using these last episodes to hit the reset button and a bunch of characters are going to be wiped out in the finale (hopefully including T-Dogg and Rick's wife). Dumping Shane and Dale wasn't a bad start.

TWD has a huge luxury in that they can kill off characters whenever they want and always pick up new ones along the journey to keep things fresh and suspenseful, yet they haven't done much of that until recently.

This new show runner came from The Shield and hopefully he wants to bring the sense of perpetual tension which made that show great (and TWD has been lacking).
