Someone should make a compilation of People calling kobe Great in the NBa(there are interviews) and they should take the clip when this guy says he is great, and cut the rest off and publish it just to piss him off. It looks like this guy is about to cry

How is Lebron overrated at all? Even though he's been the best player in the league for a few years now, you don't hear people saying he's at Magic or Bird's level. People know that until he starts winning championships, his resume won't be enough to consider him an all-time great.

You answered your own question. Kobe is overrated b/c he's nowhere near Jordan's level yet gets compared to him.

I only think he's overrated in the following aspects:

    - Folks make it seem like he is the clear cut best post Jordan, over Shaq and Duncan. How are you in the GOAT convo when you arguably aren't even the best in your own generation and clearly weren't the best on your own team when Shaq was there, when you did most of your winning?

    - Folks throw out 5 rings as if he led his team to 5 rings, which causes them to say he is a bigger winner than the 2 above players that have led their teams to more titles.

    - Folks try to put him in the same category as Mike when the resumes aren't really comparable at all (the 5 rings come into play here as well).

Kobe is a great player. One of the all-time greats but when you try to throw him in the GOAT convo....

See what I mean. "Kobe has 5 rings". Well John Havlicek has 8, and like Kobe he has led his team to less of them than Duncan (4), Shaq (3), Bird (3), Magic (3) and Kareem (3).

That's funny. Even MJ couldn't agree with you.

In a series of tweets from Roland Lazenby (uncovered by Pro Basketball Talk), the basketball author wrote, “Kobe’s ultimate competition is MJ. That’s why MJ watches him. MJ made people think what he was doing wasn’t human. Ditto the Kobester.

“I never said Kobe was better than MJ. MJ just told me Kobe’s the only one to have done the work, to deserve comparison.”

And people compare LeBron to Kobe though the former has ZERO ring. If Kobe's overrated, LeBron's way more overrated, thank you.

Aren't you contradicting yourself with that last statement then? Lebron is compared to Jordan but he's nowhere near his level either. So does that mean Lebron is overrated too?

We've seen enough of such comparisons. In reality though, LeBron shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as Kobe. It's safe to say LeBron's most overrated ever.

    Sure he does.

Don't forget that Jordan said that in his prime, he'd beat Kobe. No contest.

Everyone knows Jordan is highly arrogant. If he's giving Kobe any praise, its most likely for PR. Do you really think Jordan considers Kobe to be anywhere near his level?

Lebron's body of work can't be compared to Kobe's. However, for the past few seasons, he's been a superior individual player. Kobe's been on a better team.

So no, Lebron isn't overrated to the extent that Kobe is. Not even close.

MJ didn't beat Kobe in 1998. Sure he could say whatever he wanted but it didn't happen. In reality, Kobe scored 42 in a half against MJ, granted MJ's old at that time.

And why did MJ need PR like that? It wasn't like he's pressed by a reporter in an interview. A PR to separate Kobe from rest of guys, what's the point?

Well, we saw Lebron on his team last year, he wasn't even the best player in the finals, its not even a matter of playing bad, he shyed away. That is one thing you won't ever see from Mj or Kobe

By the way, yes ESPN is on nons stop about lebron having a better year than MJ and most efficient year ever. so comparasions are there.

And have you guys not read espn truehoop, it is essentially the lebron nut hugging and kobe bashing blog

LOL, he's a superior individual player in regular season but choked in the playoff. Too bad championships ain't won in regular season. And so much about better team when LeBron had 3 of 10 best players in the league on his side and he choked nonetheless.

Kobe's closer to MJ than LeBron to Kobe at this point. If Kobe's most overrated ever since he's being compared to MJ. Then LeBron nuthuggers better stop comparing LeBron to Kobe now.

When that happened, wasn't Jordan with the Wizards? What's the point of bringing up what Kobe did against Jordan when Jordan was 40 years old?

B/c Jordan is an attention w****.

Look at it objectively. Compared to Kobe, Jordan put up better numbers/performances against better opponents in a tougher era with inferior teammates.

Do you really think he considers Kobe to be anywhere near his level?

Sure Jordan is an attention w****, but why did he separate Kobe from rest of the players? At the end of the day, Jordan said Kobe deserved comparison, not other players. Suck it.

Do you really doubt that by the time Lebron retires, he'll have a few championships under his belt?

Last season was their first season together, and Lebron/Wade/Bosh got to the finals pretty much by themselves. Look at the roster they had beyond their big 3....nothing but below-average players. Even though they didn't win, I impressed they got there.

And haven't we seen Kobe shy away in the playoffs against Phoenix?
