    In Google, when you enter the search term "shortest time - " the VERY first auto-complete entry is

    "shortest time between remakes"

    Which shows its happening so much know that everyone knows the time frames are getting smaller

    I think that having so many remakes of films that came out within the last 20-30 years reflects more on the lack of imagination of the major studios, than anything else. One could say the same about "sequels" that have little to do with the original film. The sequels of Predator are a good example. Why bother? Why not go with something new? Is there nothing left? After seeing The Artist, I would say there is plenty of imagination still to be mined from the talent in the industry.

    Also I don't remember car chase scenes in the original. Especially not flying car chase scenes.

    Both movies by the same director.
